Plane Ticket - I booked two separate flights and also which spelling do I use??

Hi guys.... I hope you can help me. I'm freaking out again LOL!

I booked my fiance's flight from Istanbul to SFO, direct. I booked a separate flight from SFO to Spokane, WA. Will this be a problem - the separately booked flights??

I'm freaking out now thinking maybe I was supposed to book it from Istanbul to Spokane in one purchase!

Also, the Turkish language - and my fiance's name - has an "ı" in it that is converted to English "i" and that is what the embassy used for his K-1 Visa. But of course his passport has the "ı" in his name. So when I book the flight do I use the K-1 Visa spelling, English "i" or the Passport spelling?

THANKS

No, it doesn't matter with flight so in this case immigration will be done at SFO because this will be the port of entry then she/he can take connecting flight to Spokane.

You will use same name what listed in her/his passport . It should match with your official travelling document which will be passport

Changing one letter in name will not matter. Don't worry about it.

The ONLY issue with two tickets versus one ticket is that in the event of a big delay in first ticket, airline has no obligation to change her second ticket. In other words, if she misses her connection, it's possible you may have to pay for another ticket. Depends on the airline AND their mood.

Are you going to meet her in SFO?  I probably would.

Congradulations.

Not sure why this was moved.... Booking the flight with the K-1 Visa is more of a "K-1 procedures question" as is booking two separate flights. I needed to knows specifically for K-1 Visa....

Booking two separate flights is not a problem, as long as your first flight is not delayed and that there is no delay at arrivals.  Booking two separate flights also means that you will have to wait and check in any luggage with the other airline, then re-enter security.  You can look at the SFO map and see if your fiancé will fly from the same terminal.

In general, you can save yourself a lot of trouble by booking the full trip on the same ticket.

thanks :) As long as it won't be a problem. I booked them separately because it was a couple hundred dollars cheaper and he was taking the same flight whether it was booked together or separate. Layover is 4 hours so really not a problem with time.

And he only has a carry on bag so at least he wont have to get luggage!

Thanks :)

I understand WHY you did two tickets. I have done that often, but it has also backfired more than once.. Just understand that if for whatever reason her plane arrives in SFO late and she can not make the connection. She will have to buy a new ticket.
