I am about to go see my fiancé one last time before filing the i129f petition. What documents do I need from him? And what does he need to sign?

Not much really. Will need passport photos of him (US standard size). Any documents signed by him for the I-129f petition can be scanned to you. 

 

Later on is when he will need to gather other documents for the embassy (birth certificate, background check, and other country specific documents).

08/15/2014 : Met Online

06/30/2016 : I-129F Packet Sent

11/08/2016 : Interview - APPROVED!

11/23/2016 : POE - Dallas, Texas

From sending of I-129F petiton to POE - 146 days.

 

02/03/2017 - Married 

02/24/2017 - AOS packet sent

06/01/2017 - EAD/AP Combo Card Received in mail

12/06/2017 - I-485 Approved

12/14/2017 - Green Card Received in mail - No Interview

I believe you need a letter of intent  to marry from each of you that is physically signed (no copy or faxed signatures) . The rest I believe can be scanned so no problem.

The letter of intent to marry can be signed, scanned, and emailed. No one has gotten an RFE for this in over 3 years. Lots of people have done it this way recently and been approved.

Consulate Received : 10/6/14 CEAC status changed to ready

Packet 3 Received : 10/27/14 packet received by petitioner in USA ( beneficiary never received packet 3)

Medical: 10/30/14 Dr. Buteau                  Medical picked up: 11/3/14

Packet 3 Sent : 11/10/13.. Had to schedule interview appointment and attach confirmation receipt to packet

I think Luckycuds is spot on here.............take pics with family and friends, that seems to be a big one for the interview.

   

As others have indicated, everything for the I-129F can be done over email...if your partner has a scanner.   For simplicity, you can consider which of the following apply to you:  

  • birth cert, name changes and translations.
  • Marriage/divorce certs.
  • passport photos
  • letter of intent to marry
  • I-94 arrival/departure records

My fiance doesn't have access to a scanner, but the intent to marry is the only thing he needs to sign?
