Hello ,

So, a couple of weeks ago I posted about whether or not I should send in a correction for a mistake I had made on my 129f application and after reading a few posts I decided to just go ahead and send . I visited my local USCIS office and spoke with an officer and gave them the tracking number for the added paperwork and he sent the CA Service Center an email saying to look out for it and attach it to my file, mind you the add -on was sent like three days after they received the petition. Fast forward two weeks and I get an email for the correction yet the wording doesn't make any sense. Can someone read below and see what you make of this? I am completely confused as I am not requesting that they correct an error they made, rather the request from the USCIS office here said that I sent in documentation for a correction that I needed fixed for my error. I am at a loss , not sure if this is just generic and it means that they attached the add-on to my file or what it means . Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Was the info you needed corrected info that would have been also on your NOA1? If so, maybe that's what they meant by "corrected" notice. Either way it sounds like they fixed your error... at least you'll know more when the "corrected copy" gets to you.

Thank you, no..my correction has nothing to do with my NOA1, it does not affect it. Completely confused with this.

Well, I don't think you should stress yourself out until you get what they are sending you. It could be they just worded that reply wrong - there's probably a lot of canned templates they use and probably don't spend a lot of time editing them to fit each case by case. If you get their mailed notice, and they totally misunderstood and "fixed" something different than what you asked for, you'll just have to try again. At least you'll be familiar with the process, it'll just be annoying to deal with.

What the error was or wasn't is irrelevant to the question . Thanks.

I can see why you would think that way, but there is a method to the madness.

There are A LOT of mistakes that can happen when you send in your packet. What the mistake was could directly reflect the response from USCIS. If we don't know what you tried to fix, we can't guess at what your notice means.

Thanks.

Specifics of the error would actually help. Was it a typo? Inverted date/number/letter? Completely incorrect answer to a question? A question was skipped/missed? Additional information/explanation of an answer not included/provided? Nobody's asking you for personal/sensitive information, or even what question/part of the form you made an error on. Just the type of error.

Based on the info we do have, this is mostly speculation, but probably the case at any rate - these letters/emails they send out are probably mostly canned responses, as in not manually typed/written by someone from top to bottom. So the verbiage may be pretty generic, regardless of varying scenario. What I would focus on is the fact that they said whatever the error was, it's been corrected in the system. Wait for the follow up notice, whatever you have coming next (NOA2, etc.).

Håll ut, y'all.

Hello,

Thank you! This was actually very helpful I appreciate it. I answered a question completely wrong, I realized this after submitting and a week after they received the initial app the letter explaining my mistake on the yes or no question was received along with pertaining documentation. I feel like it is a canned response as well, I really appreciate the time you took answering. Thanks
