Hi, did any SRC folks receive a letter for biometric appointment after receiving a biometric waiver letter in may/april?

I see a lot of non-SRC folks getting a biometric appointment after getting a waiver in march.

Thanks

Hi, I haven't received any other letter for biometrics after receiving the biometric waiver letter in May.  Also, neither of the websites reflect any case updates. The messages on both sites are: "Fingerprint Fee received" (USCIS Case Status) and "We received your petition..." (dhs.gov).

Cheers.

Timeline

I dont get the rhyme or reason of uscis operations. When we filed I-751 in Sept 2018 we were one of the last of september filers to get any updates, and i had to jump thru hoops to get the extension letter, which didnt arrive untik late December just days before our planned trip out of the country.

Now it seems were some of the first to get approval. No bio appointment, no interviews.

Fast forward to today, Our greencards are in the mail and on the way to us. Heres a quick timeline of the last 40 days more or less.

June 04 2019: case status update. Case moved to Nebraska processing center.

July 08 2019: case status update. Cards have been ordered.

July 10 2019: case status updates. Cards being shipped.

July 11 2018: case status update. Cards have been picked up by usps and tracking number has been provided.

We're going to wait a year or more before filing N400. I just dont feel like dealing with the aggravation and bureaucracy of the .gov

Yep. Just done this morning Code 5 basically just picture and confirm positive match for my right hand four fingers. In and out about 30 mins, more because of the wait - the actual biometrics was like 3 minutes.

So you think that the reason they took your 4 fingerprints is only to make sure you are the right person? They won't use this fingerprint to do a security check on you?

👆 Let's go to this thread to discuss the timelines in Nebraska (LIN) center! 👆

Yep, just to confirm you're the right person I suppose.

Code 3 – fingerprints (10 prints) and biometrics (photo, signature and index finger).

Code 5 – one-hand fingerprints (4 prints on one hand), photo and signature.

Went in on Tuesday to my local ASC to do my biometrics. Code 5 so it was indeed just four fingers, a photo and signature. Took about 30 mins total, most of that waiting. All the staff were polite and friendly - which has not always been the case on this long old journey.

Can see that my case has updated on my.uscis.gov (though I didn't get an email notification of this) - looks like the update posted 24 hours after I went in, so I'm guessing code 5 really is just a simple ID check and they've moved on to sifting gloomily through my 200+ pages of tax returns, bank statements and phone records. :P

Slightly off topic but since this will apply to many folks soon, I'm delighted to have found out that N-400 (for citizenship) can be filed online. Not having to print out another petition the size of 'War and Peace' (since they ask for 3 years of IRS tax transcripts) is a great relief!

Here’s hoping! Looks like your case is at Nebraska whereas mine is at California. California has been slow processing I-751 petitions, but some rule changes and moving cases to other service centers may have helped with that.

We’ve had one approval in this group: I’d be very happy to start seeing more of them start to flow in!
