I just got a jury mail a few days ago too. I am a usc. It stated that i might be chosen to attend one in a year. I answered all the questions. What do i expect from this? First time.

Do you know of any case of an LPR being summoned to court for ignoring a jury duty  summon. The reason I  ignored my mom jury duty summon is I knew it was sent to her by mistake.

I know for a fact that it happens. The notice is a summons to appear. Read the one I posted previously in this thread. Let's just say I have a job that involves pulling people over for traffic offenses and other things. At least once a week I run a records check and inform the citizen that they have an outstanding bench warrant for failure to appear for a jury summons. Have I ever hauled someone in for such a minor offense, I don't ever remember doing that, but the excuse always is " I thought I could just ignore that letter" you can't ignore a jury summons. Well, I take that back, you can ignore it, but when your standing in front of the intake officer bent over spreading your buttcheeks open you'll realize you should have responded to the letter. It's not a pretty sight, and I'm glad I don't have that job. I'll take my chances dodging bullets.

Here on a K1? Need married and a Certificate in hand within a few hours? I'm here to help. Come to Vegas and I'll marry you Vegas style!!   Visa Journey members are always FREE for my services. I know the costs involved in this whole game of immigration, and if I can save you some money I will!

I did not give poor advice, I gave two options for the OP to choose from. You do not know what you are talking about. 1. The court did not summon my mom to court . 2. My mom was never charged for any contempt of court . Get your facts right. Why are you coming  for my response. I gave the OP what my mom did in the same situation and another option. I don't even think you read my response before you jump into conclusion. You didn't read the second option.

The fact that it didn't happen to your mom does NOT mean it can't happen to OP or anyone else. Don't simply ignore jury summons, doing so is risky, even if it worked for your mom.

Your response is crab, rude and insulting. My mom not eligible to be a juror as a LPR. If you have a problem with me ignoring a jury duty summon for her I care less of what you think.

What you do is totally up to you. But it is bad advice to suggest that ignoring a jury summons - as you presented as a valid option - for anybody is a wise decision. The OP should be aware that ignoring it has potential consequences.

You and other people adviced the OP not to ignore a jury summon. The OP can listen to you guys and ignore my advice. I also advice the OP to fill out the questionnaire not US citizen.

fill out the questionnaire saying you are not a us citizen and in the comments add that you are NOT a USC. send it back. sometimes they may request evidence in which you would have to send in a copy of your green card. you absolutely CANNOT just ignore it and expect it to go away.
