Hey everyone ! I finally got my green card interview appointment. I was wondering: do I have to attend it with my husband? Do I have to go by myself 😅? He might has to work out in Guam for the next few weeks (we live in Virginia lol so it’s far far away from home) so he might not make it 😕 what to do ?!? Thanks for your help!

Estoy bastante seguro de que su marido tiene que asistir a la entrevista con usted, pero no estoy 💯 seguro

I’m not sure if you got your interview letter yet. but it states if it’s a marriaged based AOS then your husband has to be there. I assume your husband is military? if he really can’t be there.. you could get official orders paperwork for his travel to guam. and with that you should be fine with that. 🙂

you should be able to get a letter from his command saying that he can’t attend. that should be enough. not sure if uscis would have you reschedule the interview but I don’t think so.

my interview was about 5 weeks out from when I got the notification that it’s scheduled. just to give you a feeling for when your interview might be.

Hi guys,

When I travel overseas, should I take the combo card with me only, or should I bring all the original USCIS notices with me to be safe?

Thank you!!

Only combo card. If you have had a name change and name on combo card is different than passport I would also bring a copy of your marriage certificate.

Hi guys,

My case is ready to be scheduled for an interview since Jan 9th. I am planning to leave the country on April 18th, and come back on May 13th. Is it safe to book flight tickets now? I am just worried if I will receive the interview letter right after I book the tickets... My field office is Newark, NJ

Thank you!!
