I got my letter telling me they are reusing my previous biometrics too.  I won't need to have them done again.

Nice to get a letter today so that I know something is still happening.  I've updated the list with my details now.

Thanks guys for creating such an important topic for August 2018 i-751 filers!
Just wanna share my experience:

a) I sent my 1-751 and docs on August 27th

b) Received my 18 month extension letter by the end of October

c) January 10th-22nd 2019, i traveled to Vietnam (with my Russian foreign  passport) and had no issues flying back to get my boarding pass at Ho Chi Minh city and get through the customs in LA!

b) March 16th 2019, i just received the letter from USCIS (Californian service center) that it will be not necessary for me to appear at USCIS for a biometrics appointment. They will reuse my previously captured fingerptints and other biometrics instead.

We are California too and ours still says :  At this time USCIS cannot provide you with information for your case. Please contact the USCIS Contact Center at 1-800-375-5283 for additional information.

I don't know if this makes sense to try but after i got  the status update that my biometrics will be reused, i placed an e-request for an "approval notice i did not receive".

On March 7, 2019 it says that my request has been assigned to an officer for response. This is just an experiment. I'm hoping the officer opens my case and actually adjudicates, issue an RFE or something. It's probably a crazy move and will never work but i thought i should share to y'all if you are that brave.

My case is at TSC.

They received my case on August 2nd, and all I have at this time is the extension letter. Didn’t receive anything about biometrics (appointment or waiver), and on the website the last update is that my case was received. On the other website, when I enter the receipt number it says “At this time USCIS cannot provide you with information for your case.”

 

so frustrating.

Don't give up !  California received our case on 8-10-18, we got our NOA on 9-6-18 and then we received my husbands biometrics letter on Saturday. His apt is 3-26-19. Looks like they are moving through some of these now.

Don't give up !  California received our case on 8-10-18, we got our NOA on 9-6-18 and then we received my husbands biometrics letter on Saturday. His apt is 3-26-19. Looks like they are moving through some of these now.

 

Thank you!!!! Guess what... I spoke too soon! Haha. Got home yesterday and got the letter saying they’ll re-use my biometrics! Wondering how long it’s going to take now for a new update.... this whole thing gives me so much anxiety haha

09/11/2019 - USCIS received application

10/03/2019 - Biometric appointment

01/21/2020 - Interview scheduled

02/26/2020 - Interview Day

02/26/2020 - Approved

05/18/2020 - Oath ceremony scheduled

06/03/2020 - US Citizen!
