How can you find out which local office you'll be going through? We just moved from Manhattan to Union City, NJ...officially changed our address and got the confirmation letter. However, it said nothing about switching the local office to Newark (I'm guessing?) Technically we still live closer to the Manhattan office, so I'm not sure how that all works and would love to check somehow. Any ideas?

Not to discourage you, but, this will probably delay your case. It has to be transferred to the NJ office because you changed states. I just don't know how that is going to work. I have a painful experience with changing addresses - my lawyer passed away and had to change the address and received the confirmation letter at the new address, but when it was time to receive the green card, guess where it was sent? Yep, you got it, the lawyer's office!

I would just suggest you try to keep an eye out on your previous address or have someone check the mail for you. Set up the mail forwarding through USPS as well.

Good luck!

Thanks!  We’re on top of mail at both places (I’m still on the lease in Manhattan till Sept) so hopefully we won’t miss anything.

Our status changed to “Ready to be scheduled for interview” two weeks ago, and we had changed our address back in February actually, so hopefully that’s a good sign. We knew it would push us to the end, but the whole “you must change your address with USCIS within 10 days of moving” scared us a little.

Right now we’re on Day 160 of waiting for the EAD/AP card, so that’s my main stressor right now!

I have been hearing that a bunch of people are getting their green cards before the EAD/AP - hopefully, that'll be the case for you.

We didn’t do ours with the combo card I did it about two weeks after he was here using his passport and the stamp done when he came in

I don't know. I submitted the i485 last summer.

I am from Queens and the wait was short me.

However each borough's office has difference processing times, use the link below for an idea.

https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/

The times are not 100% accurate. I know a few people that got the interview sooner than the estimated time.

Good Luck

I feel terrible because we already got our interview date last February when our case was still in Queens but we literally just moved to Brooklyn and had to update our new address and they canceled our interview I guess because they moved my case to Brooklyn as well and now I'm back to waiting in limbo 🙃

Anyone else in Brooklyn still waiting?!

Uhh.  I do! My AOS PD was Nov 2017 though and my interview has just been scheduled.

Does anyone know if you can you apply for AP after EAD has already been issued? Or just wait for renewal? Do they give you a new card? We didn’t know about it before we applied for AOS :(
