Hey. I saw there was a similar thread for 2016 and 2017 but I couldn't find one for 2018. Would you be interested in following the progress of other New York filers? I thought we could discuss our timelines, interview experiences with the local offices, and keep track of when EADs will start coming in. :) Anyone interested? @NYLondon @Michelle M @Penny&Lee @blenheim

@Filip and Alix @AndreaPerkins

Please tag any other NY filers you may know.

My status just updated yesterday to "Ready to schedule for interview". Not expecting that scheduling to happen anytime soon.

I saw someone who applied in NYC last year in June and they had their EAD in November. I guess I should count on the same.

You did your bio a week before us, I'm keeping my finger crossed.  Did you get an update after your biometrics?

No, nothing, until yesterday, when the I-485 status changed. But I guess it changes sometime after biometrics for everyone?

I just thought it was strange, because from a few cases I saw last year, they seemed to update that status later on in the AOS process, when the interview was actually like a month or so away. Seems this has changed.

The same happened with us too! Biometrics was June 4th and I-485 changed to Ready to Be Scheduled for An Interview on July 16th (10 days ago)

How are you holding up so far with the the free time you have? My partner has been fine so far for the past three months here, writing a lot and keeping busy, but I suspect at a date not too far into the future he's going to get stir crazy

I am good, too. Thought AOS would be harder, but then again, maybe that day has just not come yet.

I just did an introductory workshop with a non-profit, so I might do some volunteer work for them going forward. I also enrolled in a course but honestly, every time I sit down with it I start browsing jobs instead. What I am starting to miss is having friends to pop over to. Did your husband find a good way of meeting new people? Everything well with you guys?

I thought so too but them this process isn't normal.

So I wrote my JFK POE review and it’s on my profile. It was the WORST POE I’ve ever had through JFK. It’s a good read if you’re curious as to how that went.

Seems like you got someone who was completely inexperienced, and who tried to hide it by being rude and demanding. When I went through I was also standing in I think two different (but short) lines before I was directed to the incorrect window, had to stand in a third line, and then someone reluctantly took my case and opened my envelope. I wonder how unusual K1s are.
