best way is to send it by fax. pretty sure, the email addy you mentioned gets tons and tons of emails each day. chance of your message being read on the same day it is sent is very minimal.

Your gut doesn't lie, even when your heart entreats you to hang in there. What a horrible turn of events! Remember, over the next few weeks, lots of TLC. I know men aren't big on TLC, but you can do it(!). Whatever it takes, treat yourself with great care. You've got lots of people rooting for you!

In terms of next steps, send a letter advising USCIS that the engagement is off - whenever you're ready.

All good advice but just wanted to make sure you are 100% sure before you take any of these moves. Please take a few days before you call / email. my 2c.

True, thanks.

I made my decision last Friday and have tried to work it through with her until yesterday. I will wait a few more days as the NVC will not forward it before then and I haven't got my NOA2 in the mail yet.

Here's the contact info I have for this side of the pond;

You already received your NOA2 so you are finished with the USCIS, so it makes no sense sending the cancellation request there (NSC or CSC). Your petition is now with the Department of State... You need to send your cancellation request to NVC or directly to the consulate......

YMMV

Sorry this happened. With all of the many things going on at the state department, your request to stop the visa could be missed and then sent on to the embassy in Thailand. You should contact the U.S. Embassy in Thailand at their web site. You want the visa division. Give them as much information about yourself and your intended fiancee to properly identify the case. Explain the situation completely and request they not proceed with the visa process.

Because your case is at the NVC you don't have the case number yet. This is why you need to provide them with all of the details regarding the people involved.

Better luck next time. Unfortunately, the next one will require a request for waiver due to IMBRA.

i am sorry for your pain and situation. it has got to be one of the worst feelings to have genuine love for someone only to discover that you have been used. i know, i've been there. but, there is a blessing in it happening now, versus later. i wish you all the best.

Time Line:

June 1, 2007: Mailed I-129f

June 14, 2007: "Notice Date" for NOA1

I tried to send this to Bangkok Consular office Visa sectio and got this autoreply;

"...For Immigrant Visa (including Fiancée) Cases: The subject line

must contain "2nd IV Inquiry", and the case number (with prefix of BNK..."

Well I only have the USCIS # starting with WAC######

And the auto voice response center at NVC (603-334-0700) has no record of my WAC case yet.

Maybe next Tuesday morning?

So I have a snail mail going out to:

NVC

32 Rochester Ave

Portsmouth, NH 03801-2909

Is there a pit I may fall in until then?

And thanks for all the encouraging words. Really, it helps somehow. I've had to literally use the things some of you have said here to keep me from calling and crawling.. :wacko:

ding,

The NVC automated response system will never have your USCIS Receipt Number - I-129f is a pass-through, it does not get put into the system. And it passes through so quickly that snail-mail communication with the NVC is usually too late.

Try the 'talk to a human' option on the automated system, or when you receive the notice from NVC that they have received the approved petition and will forward it to Bangkok you will have the information that you need to contact the consulate.
