tourist visa to visit estranged husband (split topic)

Hi I was married in the US last 2016. My husband filed for an I-130 short after our marriage and I went back home in the Philippines. But apparently he has been cheating and hasn't been cooperative since then. but now I really don't know what to do. Can I apply and get a tourist visa just so I could talk to him? I mean would it affect my chance of approval by telling the truth that he is actually cheating?

You can certainly apply, they are  of going to ask about the details of your relationship. Can you not call him?

If you can afford it no harm trying.

**Moderator hat off**

You can apply; however, you will be required to disclose that you have a US Citizen spouse. That factor in of itself makes (regardless of the current status of your relationship) the likelihood of tourist visa being granted virtually nil.

NOT a good idea to suddenly show up at his door. He may not like that. And if you get angry, pound on the door, yell and cry, and make a scene, he could call the police. You could even be accused of stalking if you keep calling him and he doesn''t answer. His not wanting to talk on the phone to you should be telling you something!

Wait... what type of US visa were you using back in 2016?

Good luck on your application! 👍🏼

not gonna bang at his door. but I think if we are to separate ways then we should talk and deal with it properly and not over the phone.

Just be sure that if you get the visa, you won’t be spending all that money just for him to refuse opening the door the same way he refuses to answer the phone :(

Pending i130/USC spouse makes a tourist visa hard to obtain, and requires significant ties to home country. What are your current ties to Phil?

I-751 journey

10/16/2017.......... ROC package mailed

10/18/2017.......... I-751 package received VSC

10/19/2017.......... I-797 NOA date

10/30/2017.......... Notice received in mail

10/30/2017.......... Check cashed

11/02/2017.......... Conditional GC expired

11/22/2017.......... Biometrics completed

You don’t need to show any document.  The DS160 is the only form you need to fill out and bring to the interview together with your passport.
