For those who are planning to apply or renew their Philippine passport, the DFA would accept online appointments only until June 30, 2018.

If it works it is good news.  Nevertheless, I got a trip to Palawan.  Thank you "fixxers"

YMMV

Awhile back DFA changed companies that handled the online appointments to get rid of the fixxers .. only took the fixxer a short time before they had corrupted the new system, grabbing all the available openings then turning around and selling them.

Come July that should all change as DFA will require advance payment

My wife completed her dual citizenship and new passport during our last visit to the Philippines, she got lucky as the fixxers hadn't corrupted the DFA appointment system yet.   Few months later it was a mud pie.

Another option is to try to log into the DFA appointment system during the time they update appointments. 11pm-3am. It took us several tries but we finally scored an appointment for June 25, though have to go to Tacloban. We live in Cebu so it's a 1 hour flight. I still prefer that to paying "fixers" some ridiculous fee.
