April 2018 Filers of I-130 for Parents IR5 of U.S Citizens

When I petitioned my husband, I used my US passport as proof of citizenship. I’m a citizen by derivative naturalization. Basically I automatically became a citizen once my parents naturalized since I was a minor at the time. They never applied for a certificate of citizenship for me though and just got me a US passport.

We received an email from NVC with the Case Number and Invoice ID number on 12/28. Check your emails everyone! We paid the AOS and IV fee on 12/29. I guess I'll have to wait 2-3 business days for it to be processed. Hopefully by Wednesday or Thursday next week because of New Year's.

Happy New Year everyone!

Just wanted to see if anyone had any updates.

I applied for my mom back in March 2018, got RFE in early October (late registered birth certificate) and replied soon afterwards. It has been more than 2 months and I haven't received any updates. I know this is still technically within the "normal" processing time, but it is very frustrating to have to wait like this. The fees we pay aren't cheap, but I'd gladly pay more in order to speed this up. Wish the government wasn't so inefficient!

Apologies for the rant haha

Hi All,

My Parents I-130 application was approved and NVC also accepted all the documents (AOS I 864, DS-260 and Civil documents). I have one question regarding scheduling interview.

After NVC accepted all the documents and DS260 (visa application), Will NVC notify us to schedule an interview at US Embassy or NVC will give us exact date and time for an interview at US Embassy directly? How NVC notify us regarding interview date or scheduling an interview?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, I submitted everything on January 7th. So far, no news of interview date as of yet. I'm hoping to hear from them soon though. Anyone have an idea on how long the expected wait time is until NVC reviews everything?
