27 Indonesian want to visit BF

Hi, I'm 27 years old Indonesian woman. Me and my bf met online and start relationship since September 2016. January 2018 was our first meeting (He went to Indonesia for 10 days). After our meeting, he wants me to visit US on his birthday (July) for 2 weeks, meet his family, and see if we really are compatible each other. All of the cost will be on him, he will pay all of my expenses.  The thing is I'm not good at lying or making up a fake vacation scenario, but bunches of people told me not to tell the Consular Officer that my purpose is to visit BF and dont ever show them invitation letter from my BF because it will be 100% denied. So, I need suggestion or advise.. 1. What I actually need to say to them regarding to my purpose ? 

2. Should I show them my BF's invitation letter or not ?

3. Or any other suggestions ??

The letter doesn't matter. Say the truth. 

Lying on the paperwork or to the embassy officials might complicate your future immigration plans A LOT.

Let us know the result. Unless you show the CO you have strong ties to Indonesia (assets, well paid job, enough savings on your bank account) and you can afford to pay your trip and come back here, then show no intent to immigrate, they might issue the visa. Invitation letter is not part of the requirements. Your ability to pay for the trip and proof of strong ties are. Good luck!

Just answer the CO's questions honestly. No other option, and you could make things much, much worse for you later if you do otherwise (misrepresentation is a permanent bar on any visa).

How will you answer the question who will find your trip on visa application if you're not being honest?

Ok I have no assets at all cause like any other single Indonesian, I still live with my parent, in this case my single mother and I'm the only child. I have a job with average income, but I have deposit with a big amount under my name. As I mentioned. He will pay the flights, and all the expenses during my visit

Like other members said, any invitation letter or guarantee from someone from the US is not required. CO wants to see you can support yourself during your trip and will come back or won't overstay. That's why you need to prove them you have something so valuable here you can't abandon just like that, including your job here.

 

If he pays all your expenses then you have to be honest when you fill the form and answer the question who will fund your trip. The idea of lying in front of CO may cause you get permanent ban to the US on any visa you apply in the future

Refusal rate for US embassy in Jakarta is quite low. Only 10.99% of B visa application is refused. As long as you can prove you have strong ties to Indonesia and honest with CO, plus you've been to some other countries with strict visa application (EU, UK etc) without overstaying then you have a strong case. Good luck!

Just out of interest.  Where did this big deposit come from?  If it's from your boyfriend trying to to show you have assets, the COs will have seen this many times before.

Forgive me if I'm curious. If she can support the trip herself, why does her bf pay for everything? Having big deposit but she answers source of funds for travel is from someone else, the CO might be interested to know too

Is ok. I have it from saving my salary few years. My bf wants to do it himself (to pay my trip). Beside I cant withdrawing my deposit anytime I want. Any further suggestion for this case ?

Dozens of my in-laws have visited us here in the US from Indonesia. They are range from high school students (SMA) to my retired MIL and FIL. Two things in common and how easy they were given B1/B2 visas. They are UK and Schengen visa holders. Not just holder, but actually have gone traveling to Europe and came back to Indonesia.

Yeah..unfortunately, the only overseas I ever visited was singapore for one week and for work purpose
