My status hasn’t updated since my first NOA, even though I received the 18 month extension in August 18 and the reuse letter in Feb 19.

@yuna628's idea is better: An affidavit from MIL stating 1) when you guys starting living with her, 2) what the living arrangements are (how you share the space), and 3) how you guys share costs (even if it's cash contribution). I would corroborate this affidavit with:

• A cover letter from you also explaining your living arrangements
• Government-issued ID cards for both of you with the house address
• A series of utility bills addressed to MIL (e.g., one per quarter) from the time you moved in to the present
• Annotated pictures of you guys and MIL in the house (e.g., during major holidays/birthdays/other events from the time of marriage to the present -- like "Christmas 2016", "Thanksgiving Turkey Carving, 2017", "Spouse's Birthday 2018", and "MIL's 60th anniversary, 2019")
• Letters addressed to both of you at the address.

You can also submit evidence of beneficiary nominations on retirement accounts, health insurance (form 1095-B), etc... Good luck!

Ultimately USCIS is looking for financial commingling and a joint bank account is good evidence for it. As long as it has significant funds, I don't think it matters how long it has been open. Doesnt mean that you shouldnt do all the other things people are proposing, but it is something easy to do. I wouldnt go as far as saying it is gaming the system and that its weak evidence and mislead people. I opened up a joint account with my wife with only a few weeks of history. It just didnt make sense for us before then based on our situation. The USCIS officer specifically asked for it at our AOS, as if she was looking to check a box on a list. 

 

Think about it this way, if you put lets say 10K in a joint checking account, you are trusting your spouse with those funds. They can spend it as they see fit, but if your marriage is genuine your spouse wouldnt do that without your consent

 

In anycase Tammy1010's post mentions joint accounts, I misread the post earlier.

You can also get Power of Attorney document made and send it to USCIS.

 

Do you and/or your husband have a retirement account from your workplace? e.g. 401(k)? You should have your spouse added as beneficiary there and print out the beneficiary page and send it to USCIS. 

I misread Tammy1010's post, I thought tax returns were mentioned. You are right, tax transcripts would be very important

When did you apply ? Did your case transfer before the BIO letter was issued? Also did you apply for N400 by any chance?

I saw another ROC filer for a different month get the same thing. First he got letter that they would re-use biometrics.....then he got a letter to get biometrics done next week!

No. I never got anything. Just the two letters for the 12 month and the 18 month extension and the letter notifying me that they gonna reuse my biometrics. Friday I got a letter that I am apporved and today I got my card.

Thanks for the reply. I applied 04/06 and received "bio waived" letter last year may/june. Case was transferred 03/05 to Nebraska. I wonder if they will ask for BIO for me too. I applied for N400 this weekend, so BIO will be scheduled soon for that anyways.

If you don’t mind telling us, how long did you wait for the green card after receiving the approval notice?

We got the approval notice today so we’re wondering how long the gc will take.

I received a notice that my wife's Green Card was sent to print and we'd receive a green card within 60 days. The notice was date May 2nd. 

 

We have a trip on July 3rd out of the country. I count 62 days between the print order date and the date we are leaving. 

 

What is the average time people are receiving their Green Cards after being notified? My plan is to basically wait to that time and book a appointment to get a stamp if we have not received the new card by that date.

It'll depend on when they do your card.

Our approval notice was April 29th, we received the NOA in the mail on May 4th, and then we have the tracking number for the green card today saying the GC should be delivered May 8th.
