Different wordings?? I get that they mentioned 18mth extension but how much of a difference exists between both letters?

Like first letter did not acknowledge delay in processing cause (it was straight letter exactly similar to 12 months extension except it was 18 months extension).

While in letter received yesterday, they mentioned initially we sent out 12 months extension but delay in processing has triggered to extend from 12 to 18 months extension.

Oh....understood.....they felt the need to be repetitive and iterate what was already known.

Received the "First" letter today. It's just a notice saying they have mailed the official letter. Which doesn't make sense. If the "official" letter has been mailed at the time the first letter was mailed, wouldn't they arrive at the same time?? Redundancy at it's finest. lol

Can anyone confirm that they send something more official that the you have an extension letter, it’s in the mail? Or is that the official extension?

My wife received this same letter on Saturday. Made me scratch my head too. I think I might have even laughed and rolled my eyes.

I have received my 18mth extension letter now, CSC.

Also I made an infopass appointment as one happened to come up and I was worried about travelling next year around the time my extension would expire...the agent wouldn't give me the stamp as it wasn't within the 90 days before my extension expired, but he did give me a free pass to come back on 2 different days next year and get the stamp so that was worth it!  At least I don't have to be panicking about whether I can get an appointment or not now!
