Does USCIS allow download of PDF copy of the notices (N-400) when applied by mail? I have created an online account and I can see status updates but I don't see any link to download any PDF copy of the notices. It just says your notice was mailed and if you don't get it in 30 days then go to e-request.

What I post here is merely my personal opinion and not a valid legal advice and should not be viewed as such.

I don't see a document tab. Just the Case Status and Case history. I filed by regular mail. Is that the reason?

So...you applied for I-751 by mail and your N-400 online?

If that's the case, yes, you can upload a scanned copy of NOA for the I-751 on your N-400 online application.

Never mind...just re-read it - if you applied for your N-400 by mail, then the only notices you will receive are by mail - scan them as they arrive, so you always have a copy.

Unless you filed your application online, there is no way for you to download PDF copies of whatever they send you - it's up to you to scan your own stuff.

No. I applied my N-400 (and all previous applications) by mail. I am wondering if people who have applied N-400 by mail, can get copy of their notices online.

If you mailed your application, then you will need to scan any notices you receive from USCIS on your own - they won't provide you a copy online.

They only do that if you filed your N-400 application online - there is a Documents section on online accounts.

If you signed up for the USCIS Case Tracker,  I am afraid that won't be of much help to you either - all the tracker does is let you know where you are at in the process - you will not find copies of the mailed notices there.

Now, if you signed up for the alerts on your case and USCIS says they mailed you a notice, but it does not show up by a certain date - then you can request for them to re-send you the notice.  But I doubt it will be by email.

I believe you are looking into egov.uscis.gov site where you see your case status and history.

The site where you can download your receipt  notices is myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov

Did you open your account there?

Yup and USCIS sends the first acceptance receipt notice with instructions (including access code) on how to open the online account.

I initially signed up for egov.uscis.gov site where I could see case status and history where you can only track the case status.

Later I created an account at myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov also. It gave me an option to add my paper case number when I logged in. So, I was hopeful that I can just download my noticesn and don't have to depend on USPS. That's all. But, doesn't look like that is an option since I sent my application by mail.

If you filed the N400 by paper, you are only going to receive the paper notices mailed by USCIS.

If you filed the N400 online, then you will receive the paper notices mailed by USCIS, plus the downloadable PDF letters sent online by them.

A paper filer is able to open an online account with USCIS, and they will send you instructions on how to do so, but you are not able to view documents mailed out to you as online filers can.
