Waiver rejection for Fiance Visa on Travel Ban

So the State Department released a report indicating a 98% denial rate on Travel Ban Waiver applications. Three days ago 3/16/2018, a lawsuit was filed in California asking for a federal court to cease visa denials and stop the travel ban from taking effect. Anyone have any info on this?  Anyone successfully get a visa through waiver application??

Well makes sense that "waivers" would be getting denied since it is a legal travel ban which was put in place by the President who has the full authority to do so. The Supreme Court already ruled once that it was totally legal. Now the 3rd edition has been out and lower courts are trying to get involved again just to be a nuisance. The Supreme Court in April I believe is going to review again this matter and make a decision. Seeing as the first time they ruled in favor, so to say, of the President, I'm pretty sure they will again rule in his favor and allow the ban to remain in affect to the fullest. Hopefully though this time they give the lower courts a strict warning to stop wasting time and money just because they don't "like" it. Supreme Court has other important things to do.

 

There may be some 'modifications' as to what "close ties to the US" involves but that is yet to be seen or known exactly.

This is just another frivolous lawsuit aimed at stopping the legal travel ban......it will go nowhere.

As I noted in similar threads, the SCOTUS has not ruled on the current travel restrictions yet. They will hear the case soon (next month, I believe). SCOTUS only ruled on a temporary injunction issued by lower courts. It did not make a ruling (in either way) based on the full merits of the case.

The waivers have nothing to do with the legality of the travel restrictions themselves.

Hopefully, at the very least, SCOTUS provides more clear guidance on the requirements to obtain a waiver.

 

I don't see the point of this particular case...let the existing case run its course.
