Hi all,

I sent my documents to DOS on Jan, 19th and got a confirmation from USPS tracking that the documents were delivered on Jan, 22nd.

However, today is Feb, 8th and there is still no update in the DOS portal that my documents were received.

I have seen in some of the timelines that others have shared in this thread that it normally takes around 2 weeks, so am a bit worried that my documents got lost somewhere.

Is anyone else seeing delays?

Thanks!

Don't worry shiv2019, It will be updated soon. My documents were received on December 28th and just got status updated this morning (Feb 12). As part of 2019 timeline, things are delayed than last year and it is taking 4-6 weeks to get the status update as per observed recent posts.

Thank you so much @adrian876 and @JWaiver_2019 for the reassuring words, it helped me to not stress out as much in the past days.

My documents are also received since this morning (Feb 12). 🙂

Let's hope the NOS will also appear in the portal soon, so the process can finally start!

Congratulations Adrian. Can you please share your timeline?

Sure no problem. USCIS got my recommendation 01/09/2019 and sent the NOA 01/17/2019. I got approved on 02/12/19. So in a summary it took a little over a week to get favorable opinion after DOS got all my documents and then approximately 30 days for USCIS to approve the waiver. Just waiting on the mail now.

Congratulations @adrian876, very happy for you!

And very hopeful to see how fast DOS recommendation and USCIS processing can be, potentially.

Hello,

I have a question regarding J1 waiver program.

I’ve applied for J1 waiver recently but my case status is not yet updated in DOS, that means my documents were not yet received by DOS.

And from above discussions, I got to know that time line for favorable recommendation is around 8 to 12 weeks.

My question here is, Whether I can  travel out of USA during this process?

My DS 2019 form is valid until Aug 2020 and in March I’m planning to travel out of USA for a month.

will there be any issues during my Visa process in Home country or when returning back to USA?

It would be great to know if anyone travelled internationally during Waiver  process.

Thank you and appreciated.
