Meet in person only one time

I and my fiance have met in person only one time after knowing each other for 3 months. And we are in k1 visa processing now. Does it matter for us that we just meet each other only one time until the interview date? 

Have anyone experienced this and get visa approval? Does it cause visa denial?

Please share me your experiences... thank you

There are a lot of couples who also met once and known each other for a short period of time got engaged and filed for K1 that got approved. Just only make sure you will have strong evidences(proof of ongoing relationship) to present during your interview.

Could u tell me which proof that I need and strongly convince the consular?

Letters from the family(both sides), friends(congratulating you on your engagement and cant wait to see you in the US), letters from each other, conversations, gifts, western union receipts, phone calls. Etc.

Thank you so much. I already have all of these evidences. But how about chat logs? how many pages do I need to provide? But we rarely call each other we prefer chatting. Is it the matter for us? 

I wonder a lot of thing because I really worry about that. Hope u don't mind

I think you need stronger communication evidence than chat logs. Phone bills are better.

Chat logs starts from the day afte you filed the I-129F

If he can still visit you the second time that would be very nice also. But if cant it’s also fine. Just make sure only to be knowledgeable about the Consulate that the beneficiary will be interviewed.

We have only met in person once so far as well. Definitely planning another trip during the Summer when my kids are out of school.

 

Thanks for the advice on the proof of an ongoing relationship. I have most of that but may include some more now.

 

And thanks for asking. It has also been a little bit of a concern for me. But feeling much better after reading through these forums more.

And lastly before i forget. Bring photos(preferably in a scrapbook form) during the interview. Include also engagement ring receipts.

It's a requirement to apply K-1 to meet at least once within last 2 years. For most countries its fine. For tough embassies, it's a problem. Specially Cambodia. I experienced a lot of denials over the years on this issue only at this embassy. Didn't matter how much evidence you have or how many times you visited after applying. I was inside interview room witnessed many interviews on few different occasions. It's the 3rd or 4th question they ask how many times you visited before deciding getting engaged. If answer is one then they stop right there. Keep asking questions regarding this matter. They make jokes, laugh around themselves, intimidate you. Keep ask you how can you decide to spend rest of your life with a person in a short notice when you just met? I witnessed again and again this same situations. I saw they kept asking this same questions for 20 minutes or more not going to any other questions and finally denying visa. I had 3 visit by my wife's K-1 interview back in 2011. We also travelled few countries internationally together. I had overwhelming evidence of relationships you can think of. They didn't focus on that question on us. Actually they didn't focus on anything that cause any alert about us. Interviewer was joking and laughing looking at our pictures in Thailand, Malaysia and Bangladesh. He even joked with my wife how her parent in law in a different country. If they liked her or not. She visited my parents in another country. Anyway when I thought its done deal she passed, he said at the end he can't approve her visa. Wouldn't even give a reason. Just give a generic reason that based on his observation he can't approve(I guess profiling on our different ethnicity) and USCIS would get back to us. So this embassy actually I think pre approve who to give visa even before interview. Those days 9 out of 10 K-1 they used to deny. I didn't know that until we were denied. I never thought we would be denied because we were real. Anyway after denials and heartbroken, I regrouped, did extensive research, made many visits, communicated with many people, witnessed many interviews, got married and brought everything but kitchen sink to next interview in 2013 and approved with flying colors with an apology from Interviewer for denying us first time. I think embassy got little  easiar these days but it still one of the toughest for specially K-1 even CR-1/IR-1. You already applied and nothing you can do now. Just get everything you can do. Try to attend interview and get ready to face this specific question. This embassy doesn't even look at your chat logs or communication logs. They focus on actual visits. More visits more better.
