Finally got our letter for my wife's Oath Ceremony on 4/29, and the oath is tomorrow morning!  Can't believe the adventure is actually going to be over!

can someone update my information please. oath ceremony scheduled for june, 14 2019. 

Thank you. After waiting for five months i finally got the oath ceremony letter...two more weeks and i will become a u.s. citizen. :)

PA doesn’t do the Oath Ceremony monthly (or even bi-monthly)?  Why did they keep you waiting so long? Do you know?

they told me that there are too many people applying, plus i did a name change maybe that is why it took longer

Hi! Loving life as a citizen.

Word to the wise: when they tell you to go to the Social Security Office to update your status from PR to Citizen, ***you have to go to an office that can process a new Social Security Card. In a market like New York where I am, there are multiple Social Security offices - some of which do not process new cards and cannot update your status. I didn't realize the change in status necessitates getting a new card but apparently it does. Of course, I first went to an office that doesn't process cards. In NY it's the William St. office that does.

Bring your original Naturalization certificate even though they say not to.

Got my new card in the mail this morning and registered to vote through the NY DMV.

It's almost a year to the date i got my citizenship and just had to stop by this thread. It's funny how i was always on here hoping, lurking and freaking out with every post lol... now it's just but a memory. Life is funny that way. Glad to see most, if not all have gotten their citizenship. 

 

For anyone still in this journey, please know that yours will come and go and all the worrying, what-ifs and random panicking will be long gone. Wishing everyone the best of luck in their respective journeys and thanks to this forum for making my life bearable for that entire process.

Are the USCIS officers at the USCIS office ask to write (in the writing test) only what is on the vocabulary writing list? Or could it be something from outside the list?
