This is the continuation thread for

which was closed because of its large size.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Hi all,

 

My shipping company are asking for a copy of my visa, however I don't know if I get a copy of this because I cannot open the visa when I get it, and I assumed the customs agent would take the visa - is there any documentation they give you after taking the brown envelope? Just thought I'd ask you knowledgeable  guys and gals because you've been through the process of POE which I am still waiting for...

Your Visa should be attached to a page in your passport which will not be included in the mysterious brown envelope.  Hope that helps!  :)

First of all... Congratulations on your approval! More than well deserved after the long wait :)

 

Regarding your question, I'm assuming you still didn't get your passport back? If that's the case, then you only need to wait and make a copy of the visa in there when you get it. You don't need to open the brown envelope (and you SHOULDN'T under any circumstances), since the visa is just a page in your passport. Scan or copy that and you should be good to go regarding your shipping company.

Thank you both! 

I was approved but had a stupid delay because my mother misspelled one of my three middle names as Ria when the real name is Rea, and we have been using the wrong version all my life, other than on the birth cert (so I needed a new passport and police check and yadda yadda yadda - more delays, which is typical for me...) and am now awaiting news (and the visa!)

HELLO Fellow Aprilites! I hope everybody has been well! Kseniia and I were married on January 28th and are loving life these days! The process was very hard and trying; so glad we all stuck it out and hung in there ... looking back now really wasn't that bad, but you couldn't tell us that in the middle of it:jest:. I remember this time last year getting ready to file and how nervous we all were. Time really flies .. so now were in process on AOS. I sent packages off to USCIS Wednesday and back on the waiting game, but at least our significant others are with us. Take care ALL! :D

11/27/2015- Arrived at Embassy
06/2016- Third visit to Nigeria!
06/15/2016- Interview, given option to file I-601 waiver.
08/16/2016- Waiver submitted (no lawyer).
11/21/2016- Waiver approved with expedite.
01/2017- Embassy requested interview. 
04/2017- Fourth visit to Nigeria.  K1 officially denied. 
04/25/2017- NOA1 for 2nd K1.
07/27/2017- Case transferred to TSC.
11/17/2017- Case transferred back to CSC.
