Nope you do not need the PP photos of your spouse residing abroad for new i130 to be submitted along with i130A.

Those photos were needed with G-325A for old i130 form. Some people still send such photos for no reason.

not for any reason, there have been plenty who got a RFE and have been asked to send them in.

Hi guys

For I-130, Do we need the passport photos of the spouse beneficiary if she resides abroad and not in US.

I see that the instructions say its only needed if he or she is in the US. But I am seeing some really conflicting answers.

Can anyone please confirm?

better to be safe than sorry, submit passport photos of both parties.

I was going to send them in but my wife sent me the wrong ones. As far as I know the photos are supposed to be from around half of the chest but the ones I got only show the face and half of neck and I'm pretty sure they won't be accepted.

I took one that my husband sent and I uploaded it to walmart.com, where you can print passport photos, it allows you to center it, if she sent you a digital passport photo try scanning it in and to see if you can get it to fit into the frame yourself.

Is there anyone who didn't send them in and their petition was approved?

Greatly appreciated!!

I think it all depends on who the adjudicating officer is, but I know of at least 10 who didn't send them and got RFE for them.

Plenty?? I would be interested in seeing just a few.

The instruction doesn’t ask for photos, so why safe than sorry?

I-130 A doesn’t need to be signed by the spouse residing outside the US but some people still go thru expensive postal just to get the signed i130A due to rumors.

Getting an RFE is not a big deal.  If you get an RFE for initial evidence, that is NOT REQUIRED, simply respond with an explanation that what is being asked for is NOT REQUIRED and why.
