Got an email from the post office. Anyone has a clue what this could be? My case is still outside normal processing time ( filed Oct. 2016 ) sent a couple requests and also had my senator sent a request until we both received a message that my case is pending due to background checks. Now I received this email with this letter and I'm crazy nervous that it could be something bad. No updates online yet. Maybe an RFE or Interview?

THANK YOU! OMG.... I would of NEVER guessed that. It's funny how they approved it 4 weeks after the senator contacted him. I called them this morning to see if they would tell me what the letter is for because we are not home until tomorrow but they wouldn't tell me.

I don’t know what it is ! I’m out of the country with my green card that I have received 2 weeks ago in the mail, and I also got the approval letter which was in one page ! This one shows 2 pages and I have no idea what it is .

It was another extension letter saying that since my case is still pending that the extension is now 18 months not 12 months. All they did was waisting paper because those 18 months are over since may 2018. The people working there are such a joke. Not to say that I had an InfoPass appointment 2 weeks ago to get a 1 year I551 stamp in my passport. Insane.

Do not panicking!) I also have this "transfer" on feb 26th, but IO at infopass  told me it is a glitch of the system and my case is still in CA. You may will get your GC without interview, but anyway 2 months it's not a too long waiting time, specially if it's confirmed what they got your response for RFE

Why the panic? If you have a bonafide marriage with sufficient evidence then you shouldn't have a problem. I wouldn't sweat it unless you've had to live apart for several years due to a job situation or something like that.

My family filled greencard in dec 2014. We didn’t get any news or update until last March this year saying the case is received and being transferred to local office. Is this normal ?

No that's not normal,...you need to call them.

This month seems to be the first real month that they're examining cases filed in April 2017 with people getting approvals, RFE's and/or interviews. So maybe you have 4 months?

BTW, the 03/05 transfer message is something almost everyone received and doesn't seem to have a bearing on when your case gets picked up for action.

Thank you for the info!

I have a trip to the UK planned for Christmas and am hoping I get the additional extension letter prior to that (approval seems unlikely) to avoid the hassle of an info pass appointment/the sacred passport stamp!

They are supposedly mailing out 18 month extension letters to everyone with a pending application but the execution seems rather spotty. Some have received the letter, others (like my wife) have not. The passport stamp was easy to get for my wife. I guess it all depends on how easy it is to get an infopass appointment at your local office and how far it is from you.

Hopefully you get action by Christmas. 😀

Thank you! Portland, OR is our local office and about a 3 hour drive (depending on snow) over the mountain. My extension letter will "expire" November 6th.

Hoping for some action too! Thank you!
