Fiancee/Marriage question

Hi,

ME and my fiancée have been dating for over a year and I proposed to her because I want to spend the rest of my life with her. Me and her met on Tinder. Would this be an issue if we said we met on tinder or it shouldn't matter when we go to the USCIS interview thanks?

It shouldn't be an issue, but be sure to include the terms of use or service with your paperwork. That way you'll be covered for IMBRA.

You mean from the tinder website? Just want to make sure that there is no misconstrued information. Also what is IMBRA

IMBRA is the international marriage broker's act - basically you weren't paying someone to let you two meet. If you print out the Terms Of Service for Tinder it will be what you need.

I should also note that I met my fiancée whiles I was in the US. I am currently an F1 student finishing up school this August if that matters.

No you just have to figure out if you are going to apply for a fiance visa before you leave, after you leave, or if you will get married before then file CR1 or what your next plan of action is. That's up to you. Are you subject to the two year residency rule?

I have no idea whats the 2 year rule. We are getting married in august and then sending in the paper work right away. I just want to make sure that meeting on tinder wont cause any delay in the process. I already searched and it says tinder isn't an IMBRA and that I should print out the terms of service. Just was making sure that there isn't anything else I needed to provide.

2 year rule is a "J" visa deal not "F"

YMMV

If you are getting married in August and then sending in your paperwork then you are in the wrong forum as you will NOT be eligible for K-1

YMMV

I agree, if you are getting married in August you will need to do the spousal visa application.  As to the original question, Tinder will not be an issue, many people meet online.

Good Luck!

Hi,

I should note that I am an F1 student and currently live in the US. I worded my statement wrong. We are getting married in February. My last day of classes are in August. So I would be doing AOS. Would I be able to remain in the US whiles waiting on my green card?

I met my fiance  (husband now) on international cupid. If I had to send the 129 in again....I would send in the "IMBRA statement" (saying the site isn't a marriage broker). I did not send it in with my application....but worried about a rfe after I sent my application.
