I’m half expecting my hubby to forget everything! I’m usually pretty good under pressure but I’m started to get a bit fidgety now!

My husband is very bad at remembering dates, but I've been preparing him to remember them. haha

So for our interview on Monday it’s going to be warm, like 70F. What would you suggest to wear for me and my hubby? We plan to spend the rest of the day in Chicago so don’t want to be too formal/hot but obviously don’t want to look too informal for the interview. 😩

Sorry but I laughed when you said it was going to be warm. LOL I guess for you guys that's warm. For us in AZ, it's already reaching the upper 90s so I have no clue what I am going to wear.

If I were you, I'd wear a casual dress with sandals or even ankle boots. I guess you wouldn't need a jacket or sweater to wear on top of your dress. :)

For your hubby, I'd suggest some cargo pants, a shirt and nice shoes (not sneakers!). My husband will probably wear something similar, but I'll let him wear dressy shorts because of the weather.

We wore button downs and slacks. I don’t think suits are necessary. Shorts wouldn’t be a good idea though. I don’t know about women but I’d imagine a nice spring dress would be fine.

Haha yes for a Brit that is tropical weather!! Beach time! Haha

I was thinking a nice maxi summer dress and sandals for me and a short sleeve shirt for the hubby. He doesn’t really have any slacks or cargo pants but does have brand new fitted jeans so i think that will be ok with his nice shoes.

Oh and it’s been a very very cold winter up here in Chicago so 70 for Monday is a very welcome change! It was snowing when my aunt and uncle came to visit two weeks ago 😵

It was 50F yesterday at Columbus, my husband wore a blue T shirt with long trousers and I wore a white/black dress with white jacket.

When I first came to here, felt cold at 60F but now I feel 60F is so warm :D. Compare with the weather in Saigon, Vietnam, it is always 80-90F everyday lol

Yeah, I hear you! My girlfriend lives near Chicago and she's been suffering with the long winter!

I believe the outfit you'd described seems good enough. :)

Well, I finally had my interview today at Columbus field office. The officer walked out and looked at us, he came to say hi to us then said he only needed me into the interview and told my husband to wait outside. Below are the questions of my interview:

- What is my birthday ? Address that I am staying now ?

- Yes no questions in the form I-485

- How did we meet ?

(We did not have much evidences when we filed AOS, only my name on his health insurance and my name on his investment report. We also had very few pictures with his family in US because they live very far to the state)

- Then he said everything looked good but he couldn't give us an approval now. I myself offered him my husband newest tax but the officer said he didn't need it, everything fine.

- I asked the officer if he needed to interview my husband or not so I could go out and let him in but he said no.

- I also asked him about my status online, my case was actually family-based but the status online said Employment-based. He checked for me and he said no problem, I did everything good. Then he walked me out and wished me a great day, I wished the same to him.

My status is now still showing Employment based interview...not change yet. I hope I could get approval soon.

My wife had her interview Friday morning at the Columbus field office. Her experience was almost the same as yours.

When they called our number, the IO seemed a little confused why I was coming back with her. I had thought he told us he would see her first, but he ended up only interviewing her. After the interview, she told me he checked her passport but none of our documentation. He asked some basic questions: some biographical questions about her, when we got married, and all the yes/no security questions from the I-485. When they were done, he gave her a continuance paper indicating that our case was being held for review. It also indicated they had all the information they needed, but they would contact via mail us if they needed more and once they had reached a final decision.

My wife was a bit unsettled by all these. We’d been expecting to both be interviewed, so she had been worried about what this meant. We checked her status after the interview; it also showed that it was an Employment-based interview. Her priority date is January 5, 2018. Hopefully, we hear good news. My wife has met a few people here who also went through this process. None of their experiences are like hers (one was interviewed together with her husband while the other didn’t even have an AoS interview).
