2017 season just started, you don't need that, don't worry about that at all.

Just be sure you meet the requirements.

Happy New Year all!!! An update on interview approval, no papers was given to me after the officer said it's approved. A week later i picked up the package and received a piece of pink paper stating that a $220 green card fee will have to be paid before entry to US! So visa on hand Dec 29!!!

Wish everyone a smooth interview!:dance::dance:

I wonder how many of us will run into each other here in 2 years for green card renewal.

I've seen people are having a really hard time with that right now, the wait is at least a year where it used to be 4-5 months.

So the ride isn't over yet.

Is it gonna be as painful and complicated? I'm not ready for another year of history study yet...

It shouldn't be, but you need to keep evidence of your relationship, the documents involved shouldn't be as crazy and I believe you only have to deal with USCIS.

There is biometrics again and a possible interview, I think those happen at local USCIS offices.

There's a guide for it

Hi...   the process is that late each month the SYD consulate advises the NVC of the available appt schedules, and around the 24th of the month NVC begins to allocate the appts to the case complete files.. While there are a few exceptions, the SYD interviews are between 4 to 6 weeks out... we had CC mid June, NVC assigned our interview date late June, and the interview was set for August 16th  To some degree, it depends on your place on the waiting list..  if you were one of the first after the previous months appts were all allocated, you would get an appt about  4 weeks out....

So, if you did have  CC from NVC now, which unfortunately I see from your time,ine you dont!!!! you would  keep calling them every few days,,, do it late at night Sydney time.. and ask if you have been assigned an appt.. I would expect that sometime between 24th Jan and 3rd Feb you would find out that you have been assigned an interview, and that it is around early March... that's how it worked for us anyway..

Good luck!

Thank you!! This is really helpful. We have only just started our NVC journey. I'm still waiting on a case # that we should get this week! Great to know that down the line after CC to call to ask about scheduling the interview. Many thanks.
