Today is the 3rd week after an IO (Tier 2) put in a request for my biometrics. This morning I got an email from USCIS stating that "There are no updates at this time , we are still reviewing your case and we will notify you when your case status changes. We last took action on your case on December 15,2017"

I guess I'll wait another week if I don't get my biometric , it will be 30 days and then I'll call them.

Got a letter from the USCIS and was hoping it was biometrics letter.  It wasn't.

The letter is a response from the call we did a last week and this is the important part of the letter:

"We are unfortunately experiencing a longer processing period than what is reflected on your Form I-751 Receipt Notice for this process.  Please know that your name will be electronically added to the appointment scheduler if needed.  Some applicants will be able to have their prior biometrics copied into our systems and will not be scheduled for a new appointment.  You will receive an ASC appointment notice by mail once an appointment date has been established for you if you in fact require an appointment."

This letter doesn't have a case number that we can track in the case status tool.  So I suppose now, we just chill.  The only thing we may consider doing now is calling and asking a tier two person what his name is on his case right now.  The letter came in his correct legal name.  If his name has been updated in the master file, he may be able to correct his name with SSA and then make that official.

Other than that, we won't worry about anything.

Just in case If you would like to have a case number , I called and asked for Tier 2 and he gave me mine over the phone.

The case number is the one you get with the receipt letter. Mine was the same one with all my letters and I was able to check my status in myUSCIS when I got the receipt letter. Didn't have to wait for the biometrics letter to get the receipt number. And even then it was the same number.

I always use myUSCIS to put in a service request, I don't bother calling up. I put in a service request online the day I received the receipt letter to correct my name on my receipt notice and it was dealt with promptly, so much so that my biometrics letter came with it already corrected.

Our NOA says that we would be able to look up the case online after we get the ASC letter (biometrics).  In our situation, our case number doesn’t work online.  Not that anything would happen if we could see the case online!!!  😄

Filed: Lift. Cond. (pnd) Country: India
Timeline

I checked my case status online for the first time with my WAC receipt number on my Notice Of Action and it Says "On February 25, 2018, we received your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, Receipt Number WAC***, at your local office. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address." But on the Actual I-797C Notice of Action the receive date is 12/26/2017. I am confused so my application is being processed 2 months behind? Does this mean that my application was routed from California Service Center to a Local Office in San Francisco? I still haven't received the Bio Metrics Letter. Please share your experiences if your status messages were similar. Thank you.

I haven't seen this one yet and interested in what this may mean.  I checked a few case numbers that are before our case number and I found about two that have this same message.  The others have the "invalid case number" same as ours.  Maybe it's a new update?  Interestingly, both case numbers I see had the same date as yours!  Strange!  I added one to my account to see if I would be able to see any history, but there is no receipt date or anything.  But since the number is close to our number, these were cases received on the same date.  Maybe they started trying to work the cases a different way?  Hmmm?

I just made a thread about it.  Someone on our thread mentioned theirs were too.  I checked a bunch of random case numbers around our number and they ALL said the same thing - some on the 24th and some on the 25th.  I get the theory that this is a change in process for the ROC - perhaps more home visits than working cases from the service centers?

Or perhaps the transfer of cases to release the burden of the service centers?  Maybe they're allowing local offices to help?  Who knows...

@STMAX @FrancesTaber @torres10 Can I have your Filing date, Filing location, NOA date, NOA received, Biometrics appointment date please?

Hey guys, I am back from my vacation, it was great! Updating the list right now, if anyone of you is not on the list and is a December filer, please do provide us these information: Filing Date that you mailed your package, NOA date on letter, NOA received by mail on hand, Biometrics Appointment Date. We are doing this so we can keep track with each other in case someone does not receive his documents and is on the same date as others.

Here's what happen when I travel on an expired GC and extension letter. I took Qatar Airways via Doha. I have an almost less than 6 months expiring passport.

Atlanta Airport Departure: No issues with checking in and departure

Doha Departure: No issues

Singapore Arrival: No issues

Singapore Departure: During checking in, the employee of QA asked for my GC and tried to scan it into the system, I provided the extension letter too and she was unaware what that is, she had to ask her manager for assistance. It took about 15 minutes to settle the issue.

Qatar Doha Transit: During my transiting, at boarding checkpoint, the staff asked for my GC and extension letter, she was unsure if it should be calculated from the card or from the letter, had to ask her manager. She marked on my boarding pass, and I been checked with my hand carry and luggage 3 times during the Boarding Checking in area.

Atlanta Airport Arrival: I went to the scan, it didn't work for me, so I headed to the booth, the CBP officer did not ask for my extension letter. We moved on to agriculture, declared our food stuffs and everything else was smooth. When we walked through the exit where dogs are at, two CPB officers stopped me and asked where I came from, I guess its because I carried 2 large boxes of food lol. And I said Singapore, they let me through without checks. I was thinking they were going to open up my food boxes cos I tie and taped them up with strings, didnt want to mess up lol.

Overall experience, it seems like US Customs are clear of what the extension and expired GC works but the other countries and transiting don't.

Hi @DoraS

My dates are as follows:

I-751 Mailed on 12/08/2017

NOA1 Date 12/14/2017

NOA Received - actually not sure about this but I'll just say 12/20/2017 since I know it was the following week and definitely before the holiday.

I followed up via phone/email with CSC and got the same info as most people on this thread - that they are experiencing a longer processing period than what was originally reflected and that my name has been electronically added to the appointment scheduler. I am still not able to check my case number on the USCIS website either.
