So do I just call the USCIS? Or NVC?

If you have not received your NOA2, you will call USCIS. You will start calling NVC 2 weeks after your petition has been approved.

They said our case has been  assigned to an adjudicator for over a month now. Is it normal to take that long to analyze a petition?

Just because it's been assigned doesn't mean they've looked at it yet.

That should mean good. Good luck and don't worry too much, incorrect spelling should be an easy fix. :)

Thank you so much!

Oh my gosh! If they're getting stuff out to the NVC in 4-ish weeks or 30-ish days,  that would be awesome!  It could mean they're getting caught up, which is great news for everyone!

Please let us know whatever you find out!  Our NOA2 is only nine days after yours! YEEE so exciting LOL. :P

I will! I'll call them in an hour or two!

I literally JUST had a lamb-based discussion my fiancé last night...he was telling me how much he was gonna miss leg of lamb and I had to be like "you know we still have that, right...?" I'm a vegetarian myself but I know it won't be too hard to hunt down lots of good meat! I live in Minneapolis so we've got tons of good butchers and farmers who sell here.

And I'm the American!  Have lived in NZ for a few stints of our 3-year relationship :)

What made you guys choose USA to settle down in?

Has your case left NVC yet? How do you track that?

Have you guys seen the recent approvals? A 6 Nov NOA2 that was received at NVC on 29 Dec had an interview and was approved today. Can you really go from NVC received to interview and approval in 2.5weeks?

I want that!!

Case is still at NVC.  When you have your case number, you can track it using CEAC at this link.

We definitely thought about NZ, but I really wanted to do my postgrad degree after undergrad.  You're not allowed to start a PhD without a Masters or Honours degree in NZ, and my BSc doesn't count as Honours even though it's a 4-year degree with 2yrs of research.  So I could have started an MSc there, but the fees for even a research-based degree were around $27k NZD annually.  Here in the U.S., I don't pay any tuition fees and I get paid an annual salary in my MSc program...so it was sort of a no-brainer my fiancé would come here, at least for now.  Not sure we'll stay in the U.S. for the rest of our lives, but it'd be great for him to get his citizenship.
