Just a quick question...

The NVC told that the case is in administrative processing.

What does it mean ?

Thanks

They told me the same and the case was in transit 4 days later. They said its just necessary administrative processing. I hope this helps you.

It means they're doing another background check before sending it to the consulate. It is a normal process, it might take a few days. Just sit tight for now.

Still waiting for our case to head out to the consulate. Arrived NVC 01/11, case number assigned 1/19 (last Friday), just says at NVC. Interesting enough if you guys are curious if you are being singled out for some reason, try changing the last number of your case # on the CEAC site. You can actually see other cases. Like if your case number ends in 05, try changing it to say 04 or 06. You’ll see if other cases have the same status as you.

I thought my case would’ve been shipped out yesterday and thought something might have been wrong, but I checked 10 other case numbers by just changing the last number and they ALL say “At NVC”, all of those were assigned same day as me. So it made me realize that nothing is wrong, it’s just sitting in a stack with a bunch of other applications waiting to be pushed out.

Just called and same result. I don't understand how other cases are getting the number on the same day that it's received while mine is taking over a week just to enter in the system. Makes no sense to me.

He called again, no case yet

Same, it's just one disappointment after another and I'm sick of it. They keep saying it can take up to 2 weeks. This Thursday will be 2 weeks for me, I wonder what they'll say then. They'll probably just start saying 4 weeks.

This is crazy because I thought they did everything before giving the case number. And so that process also included...

I thought the USCIS would have done background check.

We are not even sure when this administrative processing began (received on the 17th at the NVC and case number the 19th).
