My husband was an american and I recieved a green card..We split up and thats when I got arrested back  in the 80s.I had a green card before I was arrested I decided to come live in UK when my parents were ill. I had  to abandon my green card as I lived outside the USA over a year.I applied for a visitors visa and I recieved that after a successful waiver.

This makes sense...did you apply for any visas after your conviction? You need to remember and make sure after your convictions u wrote down You were arrested. You will need to find a good waiver lawyer...i suggest calling Lizz cannon..she is one of the best and affirdable!

Are you sure you are from England ? English grammer is poor

That makes absolutely no sense.

Because someone is from England, that does not necessarily mean that he or she must have good grammar.

I am from Haiti and I have better grammar than the vast majority of people from English-speaking countries.

NO kidding.  After spending a few weeks over there last summer I conclude that the entire UK barely knows basic English words, much less put them in the right order.

Examples:  It's supposed to be 8:25, not 25 past.  It's a subway, not a tube.  It's an elevator, not a lift.  It's a restroom, not a loo.  The toilet is the apparatus inside, not the whole room.  It's a cigarette, not a ** (see, even the VJ family filter won't let a brit ask for a cigarette).  It's a couple weeks, not a fortnight.  This could go on and on LOL.....

The examples that you provided have nothing to do with grammar, however. How something is called is called is totally different from grammar.

In some other English-speaking countries, there may be words that they use that is not commonly used in other countries. But that is not due to bad grammar.

Even within certain parts of the United States, there are words that are more regional. In fact, you will find different uses of words for nearly every language depending on the country and the region. Again, that has nothing to do with grammar.

That is precisely correct. Using words that apply to a particular country is not bad grammar.

You are confusing English with Murican.

I am forever having to correct peoples pronunciation and word usage.

Do it yourself?

You are showing England on your profile, a common term.

From the grammar and English sentences, I don't believe they originate or even in the UK

Thankyou I may have to do that if I need it.So 3 grams of marijuana 33 years ago is definately a reason for inadmissability?I was just in my 20s It was a one time thing.Thats very sad but it is what it is I have to accept it.I have 3 american children and 4 american grandchildren.I lived in USA 22 year but abandoned my green card when i moved back to England 10 years ago.All my family live in USA now my parents deceased.I am alone here now

Everyone makes mistakes, however the US still takes that into consideration, however, you do have a path to get approved
