PD : NOV 17th Nebraska

Both old & new website shows RFE letter sent: June 1st

Received RFE letter by mail on: June 13th

Envelope shows postmark dated: June 4th

RFE letter is dated: June 6th

Reason for RFE letter "USCIS received the abstract of the marriage certificate, USCIS needs the full marriage certificate". Only wallet size marriage certificate sent to USCIS and I thought I had "Large sized" original marriage certificate but it is no where to be found. (looked ALL DAY yesterday) Sent request for "Large sized" marriage certificate by courier. When received will forward photocopy to USCIS. So, the waiting continues. At least I know what was missing.

Oooo, me too. We are similar :D

ask for Tier 2.  They told me no news yet then Tier 2 told me it was approved since 6/6.  Checked the mail and the approval was there

Congrats for your approval !!!

Potomac is not allowed us to connect to Tire-2, my wife has tried every call. they just gave same 2 answers as pls wait for 8.5m to 11m, and do not compare your case with others if they are approved faster then u. I think other service centers allow for Tire-2, but not at Potomac. hmmmm, no idea.

do we get a notification from nvc after they receive i797 approval letter or do we keep using uscis website for updates

Yes, you will continue to check USCIS website until the case is send to the Department of State (NVC) In your approval letter of I-130 are more details. Once is send to DOS=NVC you will monitor your case in this new office.

Start calling NVC one week after you get the Sent to the Dept Of State notification from your uscis app to know if they have received your approved petition from USCIS.

Just an update, my PD/NOA1 is 11/24/2017 at Nebraska . I recently did a congressional inquiry about 3 weeks ago. They responded a few days back to my Congresswoman and told me that my case is currently assigned to an officer for adjudication. I am not sure if that is good or not ( I have heard that once it is on someones desk you normally have an answer within a month) but it proves that the online updates/ phone updates is behind. On the old website and the app it doesn't register my case, on the new one it has me as "received". At the very least the congressional inquiry got our application on someones desk. Hoping that I hear back soon.
