I know this have probably been posted so many times before, however whats the average time for the NVC to receive our petition from USCIS? We got our NOA2 on the 15th (got notified on the 18th, but says 15th on the document) and my fiance just called and the lady said that they've not receive it yet..?

About two weeks is average. We got our NOA2 on the 14th and they received it on the 28th. Definitely should be this week. I would call later in the day today or at night as they are open late.

Good luck!

I had travelling to US is ok meanwhile the K1 procedure (I had done it to visit my fiance and also for business trips)... However, I think I had read that travelling after the NVC stage, I mean between NVC and Visa interview is not recommended. Anyone which recall this or had experience with this?

Planning to go the thanksgiving week...

I did many travels to the USA even with the NOA2 already approved

but I wont risk it, Im here waiting for my interview to happen Nov16th and not going to enter the USA until POE....

Take with you a copy of your NOA1 and NOA2,

if you can documents that will prove that you have to come back, I was ready with a letter of my employer.

Do not mention anything unless is questioned to you, and always answer with the true.

Thats my best advice

Thank you :)

I'm gonna have my fiance scan our NOA2 and email it to me for print out, I already have a letter from my employer and I am also bringing with me my son's confirmation that he's due to have surgery at the end of the month. I travelled after we applied once before and arrived at JFK same as I will now and they asked about my fiance and when we were looking to get married and I just mentioned then that we're going through the K1 process. It was fine then so hopefully will be ok now too.

Someone knows where I can find the requirements for the pictures needed in the Checklist for the Visa interview?

I went to my local photography center and I asked for "passport" photos, but I dont know if they are correct, they are 4.5cms x 3.5cms HXW

Pictures have to be 2x2 inches (5x5 cms.), since that's the standard for US passport photos.

What options are you selecting when calling? I think London has electronic cases, so you should give it a try at the Immigrant line, option 5 (after 1 for English). You are still within the average time, but worths trying.

I've posted in the UK forum but wanted to check here as well and see if anyone had any advice.

I've seen that sometimes in the medical, people who have suffered from depression in the past have had to provide more information from their GP. Does anyone know if this might be the same for anxiety? I was diagnosed with OCD and Chronic anxiety as a teenager and now I'm worried it's going to cause problems in my medical.

Hi!

I''ve been stressing about this so much lately too.

Basically I struggled with depression and anxiety in my teens and also SH although it was never anything really serious...I was just being a silly teenager nearly 17 years ago. I also had a time in the UK when i was a bit down. It all shows on my medical history although I was never on any meds or diagnosed with anything I want to be better safe than sorry so I have got a letter from my GP stating that I'm fine now and not a danger to myself or others. I am still a bit worried and I was thinking about not mentioning my teenage past, however you need to declare this on the medical questionnaire at Knightsbridge and they do not specifically ask for depression, they ask if you have ever suffered from a mental disorder which anxiety is. The way I see it, it's better to cover everything before hand and just be honest when you go there. A lot of people have suffered from some kind of mental health issues at least once in their life and I think they just want to ensure that you are ok now :)

Is it me or our house is getting more quiet lately? Of course weekends have an effect on that, but it's Monday again :D

I guess people are busy moving on with the process and taking care of things. And the ones still waiting, 5-6 months after filling, are probably not in the best mood to see others progressing.

So let's hope for a good week around here. Good luck to the ones that are having the medical this week, like @Salty2305 or their interviews, like @AnJ Co (have a great trip tonight... or tomorrow, not sure about the time), @krizia and @Y&P. Hope lots of you get your NVC# and cases moving to the Embassy, and even more NOA2'S, because... About time!

Fingers crossed :)

I hated Psychology in college.  Literally loathed the subject.  Going through pre med, so many PSY courses were required - but still, I do not consider myself to be one qualified to weigh in on this from a clinical standpoint.  However, what I do know is that I do not consider anxiety to be a mental disorder.  I believe we ALL will admit that when we filed our petitions, we did our homework, we had a set period of time in mind that our NOA2 was going to take and when that date arrived, we then ANXIOUSLY awaited our golden letter, and we were filled with anxiety for weeks after.  That period was filled with anxiety, worry, stress, preoccupation, or a thousand other terms used to describe the heightened priority of this event over our other required daily thoughts.  After NOA2, the anxiety diminished some, but returned sporadically through the next processes and mile markers.  While we would agree that this process is an extreme event in one's future life - we can see the importance of this phase and how it demands a higher level of attention to manipulate and steer its' outcome.  Many of us (outside of the realm of immigration) have little to be anxious over, while many of us have much to be anxious over.  We all walk in different shoes.  The moral to this long story is that I believe Outside influences create anxiety not internal ones, and I would not check a 'mental disorder' box due to anxiety.  Ironically, I saw our Psychologist at lunch a few minutes ago, I was going to ask him this question, but he was a little anxious himself... :D

Thanx @Estibaliz, this is a very exciting week, indeed.  Between all of us here - we are spread out between NOA1 and AOS but so many have mile stones this week.  I expect both lists to light up the end of this week, all for good progress reasons :D    It's so cool to see so many getting so very close to destination.

LOL, I'm also not too fond of psychology myself... which is fun considering my sister has a degree in psychology (but ended up running a comic book store :P) and Gary has a major in psychology too (minor in maths... I got myself a smart boy ). Anyway, your explanation sounds very plausible to me. I have  to say I got myself diagnosed with anxiety and stress over 7 years ago, though that was a punctual problem associated with work. I didn't even mention that on my medical (it didn't even come to mind and here you don't need to show your medical records), because for me it was just like having a cold or the flu. I got a short leave back then, took the needed measures and went on with my life in perfect health.

Being diagnosed with OCD can be a slightly different thing, but still don't think it should cause any kind of issue.

I completely agree with this and my depression as a teenager and why I had a period of depression a few years ago was 100% caused by events in my life, however as we have to provide our medical history  here I would be really cautious not to mention it on there if your anxiety or depression is on your medical summary.
