Hi guys,

Is there any hope i could be approved for expedite EAD if i have a job offer but my case is pending only for 49 days? I have a job offer in hand right about now.

Should i call to expedite?

Any feedback is appreciated.

Thank you!!

Not really. My case is pending for over 4 months, expedition request is pending for 1.5 months.

Thanks! Have been calling every other day. Now the music on the phone has stuck in my head :)

Sorry to hear you still haven't seen any progress. It makes you wonder if expedites are even looked at.

Every case is different - but if you have an active job offer, then I would!

It costs nothing and there's nothing to lose :)

Go for it!

The expedites are definitely looked at but I know what you mean...

I filed in August last year and I received a letter late September saying it was rejected. Several phone calls later they finally admitted it was their error and told me to lodge an expedite request. After about a two months of going back n forth to get the expedite submitted (mainly due to waiting for the biometrics appointment because they will not consider any expedite before they have that information) I finally got an email in December saying they received my request and a month later I received my EAD

In all honestly I can't be sure if it was even the "Expedite team" that processed it or the normal team.

My experiences have taught me that it's better to try every avenue that is available to you. That way you can sleep a little better at night knowing you've done everything you possibly can to get it done. But keep in mind that even if you do everything to the letter, mistakes will still be made on their end and there is nothing you can do about it.

@Rose_3001   Hiya Rose - Nope, no proof of "hardship" is required, that's just the category it falls under.

The only evidence they ask for, is the Letter of Offer, on company header / with signature etc.

I know you how feel! The sitting around, waaaaaaiting, is very frustrating. lol

So i you've got an offer on the table, just get the official offer letter and that's all you need! :)

I've been reading a couple forums about expediting your EAD based on job offers and I was wondering - did you apply to a bunch of jobs then expedite it based on an offer you got from those? Or how did it all work? I'd love to know more - sorry. I'm thinking of expediting mine now, I definitely need some money. I need a job!!!

There really isn't much "sell" to the Tier 1 reps lol.

When you call, just give them your case number for the EAD and say you'd like to apply for expedite based on financial hardship and an active job offer that will allow you to alleviate the pressure.

They'll submit the request to the appropriate team, and they say they'll contact you in 5 days. Only thing, is they sent an email and it often never arrives.

So if you haven't heard after 5 days, call back. lol. I could have had mine done sooner if I called earlier to check!

You don't need any proof of hardship. You will just fax back the email they send you (if you get it, if not., the Tier 1 will give you the details to write in a cover letter), and your signed job offer on company letterhead.

That's it. I think once I faxed back my docs, it took less than a week to update to card being produced.

@Karlzy

Thank you so much for sharing. Your case is very inspiring. I submitted my AOS, EAD and AP exactly the same time this year to the time you did last year! Here is my timeline:

Day 1: Jan, 8th Delivered to USCIS

Jan 19th USCIS deposited the check

Jan 21st Got the mail of receipts

Feb 7th : Appointment of biometrics

March 26th: Service request

Day 81 March 30th: Expedite.

So today on March 30th I called to expedite my case according to your suggestion on this forum. They did say they would email me in around 5 days, but sometimes it might take longer than that. You said you never received the email and then you called. Did they send you an email finally? I won't be able to fax them my job offer letter without their name or address. Should I just wait OR shall I start contacting Congressman or Obdusmans?

I am so desperately waiting for  EAD. I got a really good offer. I was given this offer out of 400 PhDs and I don't want to lose this precious chance just bc of this EAD

Did you request the expedite with a Tier 2 officer or just the customer service rep?  We were advised on Monday at our Infopass appointment that if we didn't hear anything this week inn regards to AP that we should request an expedite.  I just want to make sure we request it with the right person because when I called earlier today, the woman told me that I needed to file a service request.  She was not a Tier 2

@lemonsharon No I never got the email. I called back after about a week and spoke to a Tier 1 rep. She told me to write a cover letter, to include the Team Name and Case Numbers (which she supplied). So my cover letter was the front page, contained the infiormation she gave me, and then a short note explaining that the email was note received and this cover letter was for Case # xxxxxxxxxxx and I was requesting expedite.

@spike198 No you don't need a Tier 2 rep. It's lodged with a Tier 1 :)
