Hi everyone, fellow August filer here.

I received my biometrics appointment letter today, but it says that it's in relation to my EAD application. That's fine - I was my EAD as soon as I can get it! But I was expecting the biometrics to be for the I-485 as opposed to anything else. I just wanted to see if anyone else had any guidance on this, so I know what else I should/shouldn't expect.

Thanks!

When you see the biometrics letter you will see barcodes for for I-485 & I-765. It will take atleast 90-100 days from the days of biometrics to receive your EAD.

Thanks for your help here. I just double-checked my appointment letter, and there's definitely only one barcode. It says that it's for the I-765. The top of the paper also says that the appointment is in relation to an application for employment authorisation. My check has been cashed and I have my NOA1 for the I-485, so I know it's in the system, but should I be concerned that I don't have a biometrics appointment for the I-485?

It's kind of confusing and honestly am waiting for other experienced members to answer this question.

No need to be concerned. Sometimes USCIS sends two biometrics appointment letters separately. Not often, but it happens. Just relax, wait for the second one, it should arrive within a few days. If appointment dates are different, no problem. ASC staff usually are quite friendly and accommodating - just take both letters when you go there, ask if you can do both biometrics at the same time, and you should be fine.

Thank you for your input here, that has put my mind at ease! I just know how difficult it can be to talk to USCIS when it comes to admin errors, so I immediately worried. But it sounds like I should be fine, and I'll figure it out in person at the appointment. Thanks again!

You are welcome! Same thing happened to several July 2017 AOS filers, you can look for more details if you want and have time to dig through July threads (there are two of them, one is more active than the other one). I am from July club too, just one month ahead of you guys :)

Good luck to all August filers!

I had the biometrics appointment yesterday - it went well. I waited for about 20 minutes, as there was a queue in the office, and the actual appointment was only about 10 minutes. I filled in a form before I went in, then had my photograph and fingerprints taken. Stress-free. :) I did take my marriage certificate to show with my passport, to prove change of surname, so it's worth taking that along with you, if your ID is still in your maiden name.

ROC

19th-Aug-19: Filed ROC paperwork
27th-Aug-19: Text notification received

30th-Aug-19: NOA received: Extension letter
4th-Jan-20: Biometrics letter received
16th-Jan-20: Biometrics appointment
25th-Sept-20: Status updated: "Case was approved"
3rd-Oct-20: Greencard received

Hello @Edric&Setchie....Processing times will depend on a bunch of factors but the general answer based on VisaJourney Processing Times are 90 days for EAD and 100 days for AP.

More details for processing times will be found here:
