Congrats! I'm guessing it'll be a combo card. Do you think the Congressperson is the reason it moved along? Did they say that they did actually contact USCIS?

Thank you!

Yes, I’m pretty sure.

Yes, they sent us an official mail the day they contacted USCIS.

It’s absolutely maddening that all of the August filers haven’t gotten their EAD yet and that you can’t get any kind of useful information out of them. But maybe the silver lining is that since the EAD process took so long the rest of the AOS process will kind of fly by. I just got a text that my husband’s interview has been scheduled for Feb. 23. It’s actually right on target for total processing time. I assumed it would be 6 months (of course I also assumed he’d have the EAD in three months....). Can’t wait to be done with USCIS for a while...

15/08/2017 AOS/EAD sent

17/08/2017 Package received

27/11/2017 Expedite filed on EAD

07/12/2017 Congressman Schiff contacted

14/12/2017 EAD under review (according to T2 call on 26/12)

26/12/2017 Expedite marked as completed, response being sent

Just spoke to a T2 officer, my local office is processing cases from July, 2017! He said I should hear back within a month! Let's hope others are blessed with the same news.

Still waiting on our EAD... 145 days since receipt date. We are supposed to hear back from a T2 officer by 5 today.

Before Christmas, we contacted one of our Senators and were told "it's still within processing time. Do nothing."

Do you think it would do any good to reach out to a different representative? Unfortunately, the one we asked for help was the only Democrat & the other 2 are outspoken about immigration :(

I think there's nothing else we can do besides wait. Multiple sources seem to indicate that 5-8 months is now normal for the EAD/AP. You could try expediting the case if you can prove that you have an emergency.

Think they would take “we are out of money” as an emergency? This is insane! 😭

Yes, actually! Severe financial impact is one of the acceptable reasons, but you need to back it up with evidence, including a job offer letter.

Bad news.

“Sorry sir, but the processing center you were assigned to is taking 5-6 months for EADs. It will be the end of February before you know anything more. We cannot help you further until then.” - T2 officer.

So unbelievable. I would be absolutely fine with this if they weren't enthusiastically handing out EADs to all the other filers, including people who files in October/November!

It'll be 6 months for me in 2.5 weeks, and that's also the timeframe I have to hear back about my expedite request, so let's see if anything happens by then.

I dont like that answer, it sounds cruel to me.

Anyway, just believe that you EAD will come before the end of Feb. Goodluck
