US will meet Paris accord commitment even if Trump withdraws

The plummeting cost of renewable energy means even if Donald Trump pulls the US out of the Paris climate change accord, America will still meet its commitments in the agreement, a new report has said.

Analysts at investment company Morgan Stanley say prices for clean energy will soon sink to lower than more polluting sources.

With the exception of a few countries in Southeast Asia, renewable energy will be the cheapest form of power in almost every country by 2020, the report said.

Good and I am happy for it. I have always said that if you let companies and industries innovate on their own then they will do it on their own. Don't try and order them to innovate and force them to give money to other countries.

We already had a whole thread with MULTIPLE pages on this exact same thing in which I did show evidence from the Paris Accord showing that we(USA) would have paid the less developed countries to help offset the costs of climate change.

 

As part of the Paris accord, the U.S. and other developed countries promised to give $100 billion in climate aid to poor countries by 2020.

Our contribution to the Green Climate Fund is a separate issue. He could have pulled out of the fund without pulling out of the Paris Agreement. I think the problem is he didn't actually even realize the distinction.

 

We made the committment to the fund at the Paris Climate Meeting, but it isn't in the actual text of the Paris Climate Accord.
