You may be in AP at NVC. Our K1 was held up there for almost 8 weeks. You need to call and ask.  For the most part, K1's scoot right through there, but on occasion, some are subjected to extra scrutiny.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Sorry you jumped the gun, you cannot schedule your interview until the embassy receives your file.  Regardless of whether a K-1 in JA can schedule their own interview, you skipped a major part.  NVC has to complete their review of your file and forward to embassy.  You will be turned away at the embassy and told to reschedule after they receive your file.

side Note:. You never schedule your wedding until you have visa in hand.  I hope you can change your date.

Update so I called NVC last Monday and e-mailed them the weekend when I orginally made the post which they call me last Monday. Apparently my case was selected for administrative processing. They said it was completely normal and no additional information needed. It was frustrating to me as we don't have anything that is normally considered red flags we are one year apart, both of us have no kids and never married before, we meet for the 1st time in person, and I have flown to seen him 10 times over our two year relationship with plane ticket proofs.

Today just check the status and we are ready for the interview. I'm so happy.

Goes to show how important it is to not take anything in this process for granted, and especially when it involves booking plane tickets and such. So happy to hear that it was over so quickly though! You can never know how long AP can last and I'm sure you were worried when you got those news.

Congratulations on moving forward! :)

SatinderSabiee, I see from your timeline that you booked the interview. Did you get a notification from the Mumbai Consulate to proceed with booking the interview?
