BART Withholding Surveillance Videos Of Crime To Avoid ‘Stereotypes’

The Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) system in San Francisco and Oakland has been withholding video evidence of crimes committed on trains and at stations perpetrated by groups of teenagers, it has been revealed.

According to CBS Local, dozens of teenagers committed large-scale acts of robbery and assaults in the months of April and June. In April, “forty to sixty” teenagers boarded a train at Coliseum stop, where they proceeded to rob seven passengers and beat up two. In June, four teens assaulted a passenger and stole his cellphone. Just two days later, about a dozen teens snatched the phone of a woman on a train.

In each of these cases, BART has refused to publish surveillance footage, citing fears that the videos could create negative racial perceptions.

A member of the BART Board of Directors, Debora Allen, came forward with the information and told CBS Local that the organization believed the videos “would create a high level of racially insensitive commentary toward the district,” that would additionally “create a racial bias in the riders against minorities on the trains.”

It is understood that the teenagers involved in all three incidents were racial minorities.

It's an interesting double standard because these leftist governments and media alike are rather gleeful about pointing out white people committing crimes, but when it comes to others, need to protect the left's political narratives more than be honest. Their hate-hate relationship with reality has been a common focal point.

Because I live out here in California and this was making the news here in California when the 40-60 kids actually held up the train and straight up robbed people back in April. Several people have come forward that were on the train to say that it was African American people that robbed them. Notice that a majority of these crimes happen in or around the metro lines around Oakland. Sorry but the vast majority of troublemakers in Oakland are black. I know I am stereotyping here and I am sorry but this is the truth. 

 

Also notice that a majority of the people commenting are not identifying the race of the perpetrators.

100% correct. I think part of the way to change the behavior of some of society's scum is to keep them under watch and shame them for their behavior. 

 

Of course, part of the compelling reason to mention this is because the regular double standards leftist governments and media have, especially in this region of the country (and part of the state) I'm all too familiar with given it's where I'm from and have spent most of my life.

so, you make this sort of assertion, what do you think it means? should black people in oakland be policed differently? different laws? stricter punishments? shall oakland put tracking devices on oakland residents who are black, to be safe? do tell. this is a very very interesting apology.

Media in Sweden are doing the same thing. If an immigrant has committed a crime the media are not posting any identifiable information whatsoever but if the person is a Swede it's perfectly fine. Swedish police also didn't say a word about all the immigrants raping women at a music festival maybe 2 years ago if I don't remember wrong. 

 

Edit to clarify: They are allowed to post identifiable stuff such as height etc but they are not allowed to comment on the person's skin color.

Not all the media, uit some do the same in the UK, so now there is an assumption that may not be true as to who the issue is with.

 

The Denver Post does sort of the same thing, but most readers can read between the lines.

Providing the citezenry with an accurate description of the perpetrators of these crimes in order for them to make their own decisions on how to best protect themselves from becoming a victim wouldn't be out of the question would it?
