Hi people,

we recieved our NOA2 yesterday, in 38 days, with no RFE's (stuff dreams are made of)

so it was approved on the 22nd and we received the hard copy NOA2 on the 29th saying it had been sent to the NVC

Ive tried calling the NVC and it just says "the operators are busy.. boooop *hangs up* .. soooo can't get hold of them.

the case tracker isn't working and USCIS case tracker app isn't updated or working haha! Soooo how do I get hold of someone or find out what's going on, if they have my case, if I can have my NVC case number to book my medical!!!

Wanna get this moving asap!

Can anyone help, I WANNA GET HOLD OF THE NVC

Calm down, you only got your NOA2 yesterday. Call NVC in 2-3 weeks.

I'm not sure if you can expedite the NVC part of the K1, as its usually already one of the quicker parts and no decisions are made there, its just a stop where the case number is assigned. It seems to be taking anywhere from 2-4 weeks to get a case number. As to the lines being busy, you need to keep redialing and eventually you will be given some automated options. During the busy times, it can take 30-50 minutes of waiting on hold to talk to someone. If you call when they first open (7am EST), you might not have to wait or only wait a few minutes. Calling late at night gets you through quicker too (11pm-12am EST). If you call and hear it ring 1 time, it means your call will go through. If no ring, it will tell you the lines are busy. Good luck!

Whether or not it's good enough doesn't really have an impact on the actual timelines. It normally takes about 2 weeks from NOA2 to arrival at NVC, but it can take up to 6 weeks. Then it needs to go through NVC, then shipped to your embassy. From NOA2 to embassy arrival typically takes about a month.

Expedite at NVC for a K-1 wouldn't be practical as much of the time is in the mail room or physically being shipped. Only about a week of the time is actually at NVC in most cases (but sometimes a little longer due to a backlog). USCIS ships to NVC, and from NVC to the embassies, in bundles and on intervals (they don't ship them individually as they get approved/completed).

You will need to request an expedite at the embassy still....the expedite you had for USCIS doesn't apply to the embassy.
