Unfortunately you will not be allowed into the embassy with your husband. That said there are ways to let them know you're there. When my husband had his interview, we made copies of my airline tickets, visa stamps and hotel receipts. We printed several pictures from the 3 days before the interview. I also wrote a letter letting the CO know I was outside the embassy should they want to talk to me. My husband said 2 or 3 people, including the CO, apologized that I wasn't allowed in.

Anyone who can answer from recent experience:  I know that a while ago, US citizen spouses were not allowed into the embassy in Ghana on the day of the interview for their spouse.  Is that still the case?

Technically YES you will not be allowed to enter the embassy with your husband just for the interview. But there is a LOOPHOLE you can exploit it you are a US citizen.

When you find out the interview date, you can go online and schedule an appointment with ACS for that same day. you should schedule appointment request for notarial services and other services not listed. There is always about 3 months dates available for notarial service.

https://evisaforms.state.gov/acs/default.asp?postcode=ACC&appcode=1

Once you have an appointment you can enter the embassy that day and just wait for your husband for his interview in the lobby.

Good Luck

Thank you very much for this.  But do you think they would get perturbed to see that I kind of snuck by the requirement that spouses not enter?  Just asking your opinion, or if you know of anyone who has done this?  I don't want to screw anything up:)  This is my husband's second interview.

Usually the Embassy area is separated from the Consulate area, may be different here.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

That's great advice!  Thank you.

There have been quite a few people who have posted on here that you can set up appointments and then wait in the embassy. In my opinion, I would be cautious of this. These CO find any reason to deny and the last thing you want to do is upset them by not following the rules. Beside if you can't actually be with your husband during the interview, why risk it....other than being out of the heat. That's just my opinion though.

I agree.  I am not going to do anything that looks suspect at all.
