Hi everyone, i have a question. Those of you who filed for naturalization on the 3-year rule did you filled out 5 years of work and living history? I will be applying for naturalization on the basis of the 3-year rule residency and I been living in the U.S for almost 4 years. I am wondering should I include 5 years of work and living history or since I moved to the United States because the initial one-year history would not include U.S. I will be filing online. Thanks for reading my question, regards.

If you are filing under the 3-year rule, USCIS will only look at the past 3 years as being relevant in regards to the work/address history portion of the application.

The 3-year rule is not based on "residency" as you mentioned above, but rather based on marriage.

The 5-year rule is the one that is based on residency.

Hi

I plan to early file by 90 days under the 5 years residency rule. Can i open the online account before the 90 day period commences, so that i have filled in the forms and details and I am ready to submit on the 90th day, or does the system not allow that.

Also, both me and my spouse would be applying, i assume we need a different online account for each of us. Is there a way to link both so that we have the same interview and oath dates

Thanks for your comments and responses.

I applied online last night and I already have an RFE. I revised my application carefully and I know I answered all the questions and I didn't answer yes to any questions on Part 12. However, it now appears like I didn't answer question #30:

  1. Have you EVER been removed, excluded, or deported from the United States

What would I have to do in this case? Do you think this is the reason why I got an almost automatic RFE

Any advice?

I filled out 5 years of work and living history, because it didn't allow me to proceed.

Hi, I filed online yesterday. When I downloaded the N-400 pdf version I found out that there is an incorrect year date for my school year. I am wondering if there is any way I could modify it and correct it. Thanks for reading my question, I shall be very thankful for your answers.

You each need a separate online account.  There is no way to link the two accounts since you are two separate applicants who may not even have the same officer processing your cases.

There is no way to modify the info on the application after it's been submitted.  The best you can do at this point is update the officer during your interview of the incorrect date.

You can tell the immigration officer during your interview, s/he will correct it then.

@Going through Thanks for the prompt response I got concerned that it would be an issue.

An error like putting down the wrong year of school attendance is not going to be an issue at all, so long as you update the application info during your interview.
