It appears the online system may be experiencing some issues. For the past few hours, if I try to login to my account I just see the following:

Working on the N400 and noticed there is a character limit on the countries visited and you can't put commas to separate them. If I can't list all the countries I went to on one trip then does this mean I have to paper file? I visited 8 countries on a 5 month trip.

I'm also getting the message "You cannot have overlapping date ranges in your travel history" because I came from a vacation on one day then flew out for a business trip the same day. So I was technically in the USA for about 5 hours.

- List as many countries as you can and omit whatever doesn’t fit.

- Start the 2nd trip date on the following day.

The purpose of your trip details is to ensure you satisfy the continuous/physical presence condition for filing the N-400.

Make sure you file online no matter what. It’s gonna save you time, trust me.

When you are listing days out of the country, count only full days out of the U.S., do not count the first or last day of a trip since technically you are in the U.S. for part of those days.

I might attach a letter as “additional evidence” detailing all the countries and the 2nd trip.

The application automatically removes the leaving and returning dates from the number of days you were out. I visited Canada for 3 days and the application only says 1 day.

...Its very good and quiet surprising that they scheduled your Interview within 3 weeks of filing, You are really lucky. May be this is the benefit of Online filing.

So did you got your Interview letter..????

What's the status of your online portal....??? Even you can know your Interview date by calling USCIS Customer Care number.....They will tell you your date and time as well as location.

Good Luck

It is indeed fast and i think it is region dependent. I filed online too (from MN) and my online wait time shows as 15 months!

Yep, just got it on the portal. February 20th is the interview date. I can't believe how soon it is.

WOW - congrats, you got an interview in less than a month.

Just curious, did your account portal reflect that same time too? (mine shows 15 months)

Don’t be bothered about the timeline shown in the portal. They are not accurate at all.

Quick question about the arrest and alternative sentencing disclosure in the new online form.  When I was a teenager I was detained for underage drinking (so I'll tick the box) but no charges were filed as I was able to pay a small donation to a charity and it went away.  I assume this qualifies as a form of alternative sentencing (i.e. diversion) so I should tick that box too.  With the new online form it requires an explanation for each box ticked - do you just put the same info down for both boxes or you just refer back to the arrest/detention answer for the alternative sentencing?

Hi all,

I have the following question to which I could not find an answer in the guide, or I have overlooked it.

I am married to a US citizen. Therefore I know that my "wait period" for naturalization is 3 years instead of 5. BUT: do the 3 years include the two years under conditions and the temporary one given while waiting for the processing of I-751 (lifting of conditions).

I am very grateful for an answer from someone in similar situation or who knows the law.

Thank you very much!

Yes. Look at your conditional green card, it has a "residence since" date, and that's the date you start counting. (Both green cards should have the same date actually)

Hi Everyone. I'm preparing my docs to send my application online but I don't have the 2017 taxes return yet. If I submit without it Will I be able to send it later? I'm a bit lost. Help me please.

Hi Graci,

you can submit the previous tax returns and once you file the latest one, you can easily upload the doc. Good luck!
