I see Nigeria in your info. I have been to Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt many a time and continue to do so.

You have to stay calm now because I guarantee it gets more stressful in your 8 and 9th week of waiting.

 

Checking in.  I just called NVC.  Papers now in review.  10 weeks tomorrow.

01/03/2017: I-130 sent to USCIS
01/16/2017: NOA1, I-130 received at USCIS California Service Center
02/09/2017: NOA2, I-130 approved 

NVC
02/20/2017: Case number assigned
03/04/2017: Received DS-261 / AOS Bill
03/04/2017: Pay AOS Bill 
03/04/2017: Submit DS-261
03/08/2017: Receive IV Bill 
03/10/2017: Pay IV Bill
03/23/2017: Send AOS and IV Package :    2017-03-23
03/24/2017: Scan date
03/25/2017: Expedite Request
03/28/2017: NVC forwarded expedite request to embassy
03/30/2017: Embassy expedite approved

Just updating you all. We got our interview email this morning - about 4 business days after our CC. 

 

Scan Date: 3/27/17

CC Date: 5/26/17

Interview Date: 7/3/17

 

We're going to contact our embassy to see if we can get an earlier interview date just because I've heard that our embassy does have the availability. But when the NVC schedules the interview, I think they typically look 4 weeks out automatically. So we'll see!

I didn't get a case completion email, no. The only email I got from them was this one letting me of the interview date.

Lol...Who says I am not calm.

Is the system fair and equitable to all users? No!  Is the the process antiquated and out of date. Yes.. Is it laden with pitfalls that cost applicants months in lost time? Yes!! 

Do I stare at the calendar counting the days? No...

 

Because of my career (I have to stay calm doing it) I get to see my wife every month. So unlike others who have to be apart from their loved ones for an ordinate amount of time I am fortunate enough to see her.

Its not right that so many of you have to endure such a long period apart from your loved ones.

But as the saying goes absence for the rest of us makes the heart grow fonder.   No one here cares if it 8 weeks, 11 weeks or 12 months.
