Hello everyone,

It has been a while since I posted but we are back...

I am sending the I-751 package that I filled out for my wife (K-1) and step daughter whom I treat as my own (K-2) on Saturday, May, 27th God willing.  Their 2 year conditional Green Cards expire on 8/25, so I will be sending out the package right when their 90 day eligibility period begins.  With the holiday coming up on Monday, the California Service Center should receive the package by Tuesday the 30th.

There is plenty of evidence that we enclosed (Home purchase last June - closing statement/deed of trust, marriage certificate, son's birth certificate, combined bank accounts statements/credit card statements, recent tax transcripts, 401k beneficiary, family healthcare coverage through my employer, auto policy in effect for both self/wife, family vacation itineraries, lot's of pictures, etc.)  We were blessed with our roughly 10 month old son last August and she is pregnant once again LOL, but it's a blessing since we will be closing shop on completing our happy family after he/she arrives in early January '18 God willing.   :)

It is amazing how my wife and step daughter that is now 7 years old have adjusted to their new life in the USA.  My wife is currently enrolled in ESL classes in adult school and independent when it comes to driving around our city, running errands, going to Dr's appointments, etc.  My daughter will be completing 1st grade next week and her English is "fluent" which is amazing, not to mention the awards she has received from her school at such a young age.  We are truly blessed as a family and hoping that this ROC process goes smoothly.

Best of luck to everyone on this thread and enjoy your holiday weekend.

-Gera

Sent mine yesterday and tracking says signed and delivered at VSC. By reading all the comments, I have added all the documents except forgot to add the marriage certificate. Does that mean my application has not sufficient evidence?

The marriage certificate is not required evidence.  They already have a copy of it from your AOS, so you are fine.  We did not include the marriage certificate either.

I'm sending mine in tomorrow, first thing in the morning!

This is how it's going down:

  • Joint pictures
  • Rental leases w/both names
  • Two sworn affidavits
  • Copy of car loan w/both names
  • Three most recent bank statements from joint account
  • Two most recent complete tax returns & most recent IRS transcript (the latter being a bit unnecessary, but I figured I'd send it anyway)
  • Copy of passport bio page and I-551 stamp (I lost my green card)
  • I-90 explanation letter, along with supporting documents

It's not a lot, but it's all that we have so far. Husband and I have health insurance through different companies for now. Hope it's enough. Good luck to everyone!

You need to show evidence of financial co-mingling for the duration of the marriage, the most recent 3 months won't cut it. I just had my friend receive an RFE recently because she only sent in recent documents.

IRS transcripts are EXTREMELY necessary.... Good thing you included it anyway. That's the only real proof indicating having done tax returns and also showing what the IRS actually has on their records about it.

You need more statements. I had statements from Jan. 2015 till April 2017 on there. Better safe than sorry.
