You are not alone in this.

First, this is a serious situation we are in. This is about our lives and happiness so I don't make light of it and say the following with humility and the utmost respect for all who are enduring this trial. And a trial it is.

 

Ok, if I may suggest...preparation is the best coping mechanism. I've been practicing this for years so know a little about it.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the way we feel during this trial. Nervous, confused, sad, afraid, anxious, even angry...it's all normal. We should forgive ourselves and embrace it. But, how we respond is the matter of it.

Tell yourself you cannot worry about what you cannot control. Ask yourself, "Have I done all that I can do to aid this process with what I can control?" Feel good about doing your best.

Ask yourself "what is the worst that can happen" or "the worst-case-scenario" and prepare an emotional and practical response to it just in case. I.e. "What will I do if waiting for the NOA2 goes past this month; RFE, Denial?"

Do I have hobbies, fun things, things I like to try, while I wait? We really need to laugh at ourselves. It helps a LOT! Think about and do things that add value to yourself and your relationship.

 

There need to be a certain level of "detachment" from this process in order to go through it with dignity and to prevent time-consuming mistakes. And believe me, being too nervous and emotional causes you to make mistakes like overlooking questions or checkboxes, sending incorrect nfo or marking/signing the wrong place on documents. It also puts unnecessary stress on your relationship when this process should bring you closer together. For me and my Beneficiary, this is the first "serious test" of our relationship. How we handle this will show us how we will handle trying situations in the future. It will also bind us closer together right out the gate. And that's wonderful.

I can see the worry on my fiancee's face. Sometimes it's apparent, sometimes it's buried, but it's there. She would say "I don't feel good about this baby. It's too long." I tell her "I know baby. I feel afraid and nervous. Whatever happens we will go through it together." She smiles because that assures her that the USCIS or Consulate cannot define who we are. We will go through this and we will be together. Being with your Fiance(e) as much as possible (in person if possible, facetime, messenger, etc) is critical. I "tucked" my fiancée in over Facetime and right now I am looking at her sleeping. (oh! She's getting up. toilet time. hahahaha!!)

 

Everyday I have to prepare myself for another day of disappointment before it happens. Everyday I prepare myself for the Approval before it happens. But regardless of what kind of day it will be, I will add value to my life and my relationship because this entire process is for me and my fiancee. Whatever the outcome, we will go through it and triumph together.

Just checked USCIS website and we were APPROVED! Crying tears of happy joy. No notification on app/email or text message yet.

GREAT!! Congratulations.

Visa before the holidays is possible but slim. I read someone getting an interview a month after NOA2. Depends on the speed of NVC and Consulate.

Make sure you do not let emotion cause mistakes. Carefully prepare your documents and maybe let someone look them over for you.

So sorry to hear this...Enjoy Christmas together and regroup. I hate to say it, but you may consider canceling the first petition and starting over. From what I understand, the Citizen only gets 2 chances for this type of visa and a denial will take 1 away. That's why they send a letter of intent instead of a denial. That way you can cancel it without penalty and resubmit. 

My Faye and I are still waiting for our NOA2 after an RFE 60 days ago. We may be in the same boat but not sure. We are day 219 ourselves NOA1 April 10. We have discussed contingencies and if we receive a letter of intent to deny I will cancel the K-1 and marry her in the Philippines, then apply the marriage visa route.
