Hi there! When you mailed your AOS packet, did you have tracking number given to you? If you do, you can look it up to see where your package is now. AOS receipt # is different from your K1 receipt number. You cannot check it at the USCIS website unless you have your AOS receipt #.

Yes, I received a tracking # but all it says is pkg in transit as of April 4th 2017.

Today is April 18th. It has no further update after that. I am terrified since the AOS has some original documents that were very hard to obtain from my husband's country of origin. Super anxious, really wish I would have asked for a return receipt but I didn't.

You should call the USPS customer service line, this is unusual unless they just forgot to scan it when it arrived. Also USCIS doesn't require original documents so for future submissions make sure you send copies and keep scans of everything digitally just in case. Good luck!

Dear all,

I filed the AOS-AP and EAD forms last week, they were delivered on 04/13.

The money has not been cashed yet, how many days should we wait for receiving any confirmation from USCIS?

Thanks a lot! 🌻🌼⚘

Mine took 11 days... but there are folks on the March forum that took as long as 4 weeks. My email & text notification came the next day on day 12 and mail came on day 17. Patience is a big part of this process unfortunately. Best wishes!

Hi there! Yup, hopefully it won't be long. I have my Alien number when my I-129f was approved. I have my SSN but with restriction and I got my state ID too. I was surprised because they said you can't apply for SSN unless you have your GC or EAD at least but I tried and I got it without hassle. Hopefully, GC will be no hassle too 😊

I'm glad you got your SSN without much hassle, it definitely makes other things soooo much easier to get (bank account, credit cards, etc). I was lucky that I lived in the US for four years many years ago on an F1 student visa, and got a SSN then and since it's a lifetime number I was able to get it re-issued in my married name.

Is the state ID in your maidden name or married name ? Well i guess each state has different requirements, Im in texas and i read on their website that i needed at least an EAD.

Getting an ID in TX is a major hassle. They require some proof of legal status, either through a work permit or visa to get a drivers license or state ID, and it expires on the same day as the visa. The one I have now expires in October and its my second one in two years and they cost the same as the regular 6-year ones.

In a perfect world, USCIS would grant me a GC interview between September and October, after my 2 year wedding anniversary, but before my ID expires, LOL :jest:

So that would be pointless if I apply for the ID now ? Since my visa expires on May 19.

E-notifications usually arrive a day or two after check encashment; hard copies will follow in 3-5 days after e-notifs. 🙂

Glad to know that your second package did not get lost.
