Hello all,

I was able to get through to the USCIS on the phone and was transferred to a Tier 2 officer. This was last week. The Officer told my that our case was being processed in the California Service Center. When I pressed and asked if a officer had been assigned he said yes. I asked if he could give me an estimate of when we would receive the NOA2 and he said based on my NOA1(April 4) then it would be sometime this month or, at the latest, the first week of September. Did anyone else have an experience like this with a Tier 2 officer. I read that some people got exact information on their case while others didn't get as much information as I did. I take him at his word that it will be this month or September but I feel like he was just ballparking to get me off the phone. He kept saying they were 3 months behind but I don't know what to do with that information.

You got a good officer, most the time they have no idea what's going on at the service centers. But you got one who probably took the time to actually do his job and look into it..haha not often

Like any call center you are going to have a different experience depending on who is on the line.  It sounds like the CSR you got was helpful.   Give him credit for giving out correct information albeit he didn't have to go out of his way to answer you.  The real question is did he have any more information than he gave you?  I would guess you now know as much as he does good news being you the case isn't lost.  Hope you get your NOA-2 soon! :)

Thanks! We've got our fingers crossed. It's good to know we got a good officer.

Alright my dumb butt has a question... i was going everything I sent in a couple days ago and saw a made a mistake on the letter of intent to marry.  Something really stupid and how I didn't notice is so far beyond me.  Then I saw you guys posting the TOS from dating site...I didn't send that either... so do I just wait for the RFE or can I fix it now? Gah!!!

What particular part of the intent to marry you had a mistake with? If you met on a full pledge dating site, TOS is necessary..who knows you might be just lucky depending to the adjudicator but just have the TOS printed and ready so you can submit it at anytime if in any case you get an RFE, it's good to be ready..

You are right. USCIS goes by received date in the "order" they work as well as to consider a case within or out of processing times. However, the VJ timeline works with notice date for some reason, so you got that right by changing your timeline :)

@bobinna13 As Chris said (or maybe Faye ;)), get everything ready in case you get an RFE based on any or both of those reasons, so you can respond ASAP. But the rule is never send them anything until they ask for it. As it has been said, you might get lucky and just being plain approved. One never knows... :)

LOL, BTW, I just realized I did my count wrong today. It's day 124 (129 since received date :P

That is a bummer. :(  Good news is you may not get an RFE for it.  Some have gotten an RFE for not sending in the TOS, others haven't.  And depending on what your mistake was on the letter they may still accept it.

Bad news there really is no way to fix it unless you get an RFE.  You just need to ride it out and have the documents ready if needed.
