I just discovered that there were other bits other than the AOS forum :D

On that note I thought I wold give a wee intro. I'm Kat and I'm 25/female from Northern Ireland and now living in Texas. My husband is Shannon 25/m and a texan. We met in the summer of 2005. I was in texas visiting friends and met him through a mutual friend. At the time I thought he was rather scrummy looking with a personality to match. He was wearing his paramedic uniform and had that wow factor  !

That same day I was at the airport leaving one of my friends friend off for a flight and managed to lose the car and got heat stroke from hunting for an hour in 110 heat. To cut a long story short, I ended up pretty sick and the following day I started having seizures and was rushed to hospital.

To my surprise, Shannon came to visit and at that time I was so sick that I couldn't have flirted if I had wanted to. He seen me at my very worst so when I got out of hospital and he told me that he had feelings for me, I believed him. I was slightly bewildered because I seriously looked like the original death itself (i have photos as proof!) wired to all machines but he said he seen past all of that :luv: .

I had to go back in October later than planned as I didn't have permission to fly by the doc until then. I was back home for a short time and he proposed and a 1 way paid ticket arrived at my door! Well when you know its right, you know its right so of course I said yes and landed back in Texas reunited with my baby in november 2005.

Bless his heart he has been such a champ putting up with me because with just recently being diagnosed with epilepsy i've been landing back in hospital with allergic reactions and seizures and all sorts. The poor guy had to watch me stop breathing the day before christmas eve and be bagged and intubated because I had an allergic reaction to morphine. Even though in his profession he does that every day nearly, he said it was the most scared he has ever been when he watched the doctors fighting to keep me breathing. Pretty scary I have to say myself!

Anyhow hes a saint and a scholar for putting up with me and I love him with all my heart and soul :luv:

Anyhow He is a paramedic and I am a canine behaviourist and veterinary technician but as I'm not legal to work just yet, I'm currently not working and going rather stir crazy.

My passion is dogs. I train obedience and agility as well as search and rescue, therapy, canine freestyle. The previous dog that I handled competed at championship obedience including the obedience world championships at Crufts, and championship agility and is one of the most successful dogs in the UK. I have my own Border collie called Kes who is a year old tomorrow (Happy birthday Kes!) and she is showing excellent potential and will be in the ring by the end of summer beating all the american dogs B) I'm extremely active and horse ride when I get time. I'm getting used to western riding but I have to admit that I prefer English because trying to jump in a western saddle is fricking impossible! I also do a lot of long distance endurance running (up to 20 miles ish) and have recently taken up power yoga for the sake of it which is quite fun but hard work!

I really can't think of anything else to say right now so i guess I shall leave it at that :)

Kat :luv: (I just love having a Kat emoticon on here!)

Hi there Kat wave7ul.gif Glad you finally ventured out of the AOS forum. Nice to hear from you and what a wonderful story. All the best with your AOS.

Oh, I used to breed and show German Shepherds here in Australia. I even managed to take out the Canine Council Breeder of the year at one stage ....mainly due to brains (obedience, tracking etc) as opposed to beauty, though I did have some winners there too. Sometimes I miss it but then I think of all the politics involved and I keep running :P
