Here is something rather interesting, perhaps it is the reasoning behind their waiting so long to adjudicate cases.  From a think tank on immigration, they surmise 'Committed couples endure this process'.

Very interesting, thanks for sharing. For sure when my fiance and I first started dating as an international couple, we decided, "Yes, we love each other enough to deal with the time apart and other bullshit", knowing that it wouldn't be the easiest, but that we were committed enough to go through whatever we had to.

True..... It really takes a strong commitment, unique in itself, for such a time as this.

Sidenote,   I think it is hilarious that I can't use the word C R A P unless I disguise it in a sentence and you can freely use bull....     go figure

Once you hit "In Transit," it will be "Ready" in just a day or two. In my case, we went to "In Transit" on a Friday and it was "Ready" on Monday. I'm not sure, but since Ukraine deals with electronic cases, it's probably just a matter of someone at the embassy verifying they have received the case for the status to change. Just hang in there, everything should move forward this upcoming week!

Thank you much Nicolas for support. I really hope that we will hear good news this week.

And really hope everything is ok with you!

Picked up our passports and brown envelopes today! Woohoo!!!

I wish I could say "no more paperwork until the AOS" but I'll still have to deal with some local red tape before leaving :) Anyway, I feel so relieved now, looking at the actual visas :jest:

Congrats, Olya!

Can't wait to see your POE pic! ;)

We received our number on August 25th and still awaiting to be "in transit" and "ready".

Sometimes they show activity on weekends but not sure if such holidays as Labor Day is a workday for them.

Really?! That's quite long for it to be at the NVC. When my fiance called them the guy he spoke to said they only keep our cases for a matter of days. Clearly not!
